    we went into Shor looking for a dresser , when I tried to open and close the top drawer it was stuck. the items on top of the chest fell and one broke. Now the shakedown begins . I'm told I have to pay for the overpriced item. Coming from a retail background I thought this was strange, never in 30 years experience would I ever force someone to pay for a damage item. It is the cost of doing business. Needless to say they have lost any future business I might have transacted with them. Last year alone I purchased over $3000 worth of home furnishings from them. I don't think any reputable business functions this way. The item in question was $170 not going to break their business

    We are truly sorry for the unfortunate incident. However we are a shop with a 3 month summer selling period. The piece that you accidentally broke was a ********************* wood with gilt letter. If it was repairable or replaceable we would have not charged you. The antique dresser is still available. We would be happy to offer a credit for the amount of the letter if you're interested. We do care about our reputation and hope you understand. Thank you.

    Yes I would like a credit for the * posted to my Amex account and no Im not interested in your antique chest . Im sure you are interested in your reputation and most of the townspeople Ive relayed the story to think you were in the wrong considering the item at cost was far less than full retail. You could have simply returned it to your vendor for credit.
