I booked parking with Park N Boston based on their reasonable pricing and offer of shuttle to the airport. When I arrived at the lot I learnt that unlike all my previous experiences of leaving my car parking lots I was not allowed to park it myself. The attendant took my key and said there was no other way to leave my car with them which was odd. I decided to rely on their professionalism not to steal anything from the car. Then I was given a document to sign which excused the lot from ALL liability. The text read they did not have security personnel to oversee any activity at the lot and that I would assume all risks. The document did not state requirement of the lot attendant to park my car, it just stated I had to leave the key with them. However, as per attendants instructions I was not allowed to park my car myself. As a result, they evidently left windows open as the rear seat and floor of my car were soaking wet along with all the stuff on them when I picked up my car two days after the snow and the rain storm passed. When I picked up my car the window was rolled up and nobody mentioned the incident. I noticed the damages when I opened the rear door to get my coat which was dripping wet. The attendant told me to reach to their director of transportation and offered to be a witness for the damages to my car while in their care. I did so and the director wrote back with apologies and offer to refund my parking expense. I told him that refund would not cover all my efforts taking the car apart and drying out the insides so it wouldnt rust and grow mold. As my dealership was booked for two weeks out, I didnt want the car to sit wet and rust, so I did the work myself and asked director to reimburse me additional $200, fraction of dealership charge. The director ignored my messages so Im alerting BBB of these practices. The company took my key, caused damages to car through their negligence, and recused itself from any liability. How is that legal?
