Our HVAC main zone was running but not throing cool air. had no clue and as such called them. The guy spent sometime on the circuit board and found nothing. Mentioned that he will have to charge another 108$ to chek the thermostat. I insisted that he should check the outside compressor as the thermostat was running. without even checking he opened the thermostat and in 2 minutes went outside to check the compressor. Now he mentions that he will need to charge another 400$ to replace the 12v relay. was not feeling good about the way he was operating. checked the price and it was 12$ homedepot. Asked him to leave immediately.I replaced it myself and then diagonized the issue to be with the thermostat wiring. I replaced that myself and it works as expected.Very unethical and malicious business practice.

We lost our heat and called for an appt. We had employed Central before. They told us it would be around $170 to come out. ***** gave us a call and showed up in the window as promised. ***** was professional and we have no issue with him. He came in we showed him where the furnace was. After being on the furnace room for 5 minutes he called me in. He said there were two options $821 to troubleshoot and see what was wrong and $1000+ to troubleshoot and do a tune up. I asked why it was $821 if he didnt know what the issue was. He informed me that he couldnt diagnose the issue unless I agreed to the $821 fee. It was 38 degrees and we needed heat. Kind of had me over a barrel at that point. After 20 minutes ***** had the furnace running. He told me a spring had popped off the motor that opened the damper and activated the switch to ignite the burners. All that was done was re-attach a spring and 20 minutes of looking at the issue. FOR $821!! That works out to $2400/hour. I asked him if while he was here he could install a digital thermostat I had on hand. He said yes, then after calling his manager he said he was told he could only install it if we had purchased it from them. Before he left, he took a picture of the motor and said they could send me an estimate to replace that if they could and he left. After 10 minutes, ***** rang the doorbell - he wanted to share that his manager said they would not replace anything on the furnace as it is an older furnace. (The first thing I agree with - it is old). He said his manager said they could do a safety check and look for cracks or other safety issues - he informed me that it would be an additional $207 to do that. I declined. We had just referred Central to a friend who had furnace issues based on our previous experience. That will never happen again. The cost that a customer had to agree to before they will even look at the furnace is ridiculous and should be communicated prior to scheduling a tech visit.

Look for other options. Spent over $1400.00 with Central Cooling and Heating with no solution for a "leak" in my air conditioning system. Both techs put "leak search" on the invoices and claimed the coil should be replaced. The coil was not easy to reach so the tech states "This is a BIG job - I'll need another person here" - in other words double the labor. Luckily, I was recommended a local company out of **********. The tech was here 25 minutes found a leak at the ** valve and tightened the ** valve. For 20% of what I gave Central Cooling my AC works.Think about that in our current economy. Either their reps have no idea what they're doing or they're just crooks. Either way - look for other options.

Truly the worst service I have ever used - they came for 3 hours for a furnace repair, could not figure out the fix, and charged us $800! We ended up finding another company who fixed the issue in one hour for $200, explaining the problem and how they were addressing it. Central Cooling and Heating refused to reimburse any amount. Save yourself.

Thank you for the feedback ********. We have reviewed the data our tech collected such as static pressure readings, gas pressure, duct sizes, and return grill sizes. Your furnace problem is actually caused by a restrictive duct system due to poor design or installation, which is quite common. The other company may have made a temporary adjustment but the underlying problem has not gone away. Operating a furnace with such a duct system will lower efficiency, decrease lifespan, and likely result is a failed heat exchanger. Is it possible our higher price is the result of a more thorough diagnosis? We are happy to discuss a credit of this service call towards the proper repair of your system if you wish. Feel free to contact our General Manager and we can discuss next steps to getting your system working correctly.
