******* ******* purchased a 2013 *** **** from us on 03/15/2021 with 67,708 miles on it. The car passed inspection and drove the car over 20K miles.  He had the car until 11/16/2022 when he traded the vehicle in with 88, 801 miles on it. There were never any issues with the vehicle and he never spent a single dollar to fix the vehicle with us. ******* traded the vehicle in for a 2010 ******** **** on 11/14/2022 at a $4000 discount that had 135,494 miles on it because his friend wanted a bigger vehicle, test drove it, and loved the way the vehicle handled. This vehicle also passed inspection and there were no issues with the vehicle until about 5 months later when another customer informed us that there was a recall on this particular make and model for the rear sub-frame. After hearing this we contacted all of the customers that we sold this style vehicle to and informed them of the recall as well, including *******. He came to us and we gave him the option to bring it to ******** himself or we could do it for him, since the car was here he decided to have us bring the car to them. Due to the large number of vehicles that this recall included they informed us that they didn’t have an exact time frame of when we would be receiving the vehicle back due to the parts on back order. We relayed the message to ******* but he insisted on calling us on a near daily basis, yelling at us over the phone, not only the shop phone, but our Finance Manager’s personal phone number, my personal phone number, and another of our office workers personal phone number. We gave him the information of the dealership where his vehicle was so he would stop harassing us and to let him know that he would not be charged even for our time. Yet he continued to call and yell at us over the phone about when his car would be fixed. Eventually ******* decided that he didn’t want to wait any longer for his vehicle and wanted to test drive a 2011 *** *** that we had for sale. He decided that he liked that vehicle and wanted to purchase it which he did on 06/16/2023 with 136,576 miles on it. This vehicle also passed inspection, after that, he came by to get a headlight fixed, which we also paid for out of pocket, we asked how the car was running, he stated that it was going very good, no check engine light on, and no messages stating that there was an issue with the motor. A couple months later, he said he brought the vehicle to a different garage, and they told him the engine was making a ticking noise and would need to be replaced. After discussing this with him we told him that we would give him a fair price for putting another engine in the vehicle instead of paying a lot more at the other shop. Normally this job would cost over $15,000 for parts alone from the dealership brand new  but we showed him that the engine for the vehicle was $4500 alone, plus sales tax, fluids, and other parts we purchased to make sure the vehicle would run like it should, such as a new valve cover and gaskets for $300+ since he’s been a customer of ours for many years. As you can see in the photos he sent, not only did he not pay the full amount for the work that was done, but he hasn’t even paid for the engine in full yet  and still doesn’t have the vehicle which , he in fact does have the car. We have not called him about the remaining balance at all, even though we did release the car to him when there is a sign in our office that clearly states no car will be released until the bill is paid in full. We have been taking care of *******’s cars for years, even ones that he has not purchased here, bent over backwards to keep him satisfied, always pays in installments never the balance in full and insists on taking the cars as soon as they’re finished. He has purchased many other vehicles, without issue or harassment  about payments, going above and beyond for him to make sure he is always satisfied with the level of customer service he receives from us. We have always been able to work out any issues there may be with ******* in the past, but clearly he has taken something personal from this and is trying to put my name and reputation down after 20+ years in business. The last time we spoke was a month after  we installed the engine because he said the check engine light had just come on that morning and we told him to bring the vehicle back so we could check the vehicle out and reminded him about the remaining balance. He started getting angry and yelling over the phone that he wasn’t going to bring the car here anymore and he wants to go to a different garage. We have included some pictures of the transactions of the vehicles we have sold to *******, the repair order from ******** **** ** ********** with the dates as well as the price of the engine that we agreed upon
