Date Saturday May 21, 2022 A private security guard at this business assaulted me and threatened me with a metal baton. I spoke to the police who said I should file a complaint with the BBB. I was not threatening or harming anyone at the time this occurred. There was a simple misunderstanding as I walked out the wrong door, and turned back inside. As multiple witnesses watched, I was speaking to the security guard to defuse their aggression, and he, unprovoked, shoved me backwards through a door onto my back. He then took out a metal baton, and threatened me with it, while I lay on the ground with my hands up. He had a vest on which had the word "Police" on it. He later stated that he was not police, but rather only a private security guard. He gave his name as Giuseppe Bay (exact spelling not known). I would like a refund of the money I paid them for anything I ordered, as I was forced by their security to leave. I will also apply through my credit card for a charge back. I would also like them to provide the name, employer, and contact information for the security guard in question, as I will file additional complaints/charges as warranted. I understand he may actually be employed by a security contractor.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/06/11) */ The reported account of events is almost entirely false and an elaborate bending of reality. The patron was NEVER assaulted by contracted security. If this were the case officers would have responded and arrested our contracted security. The simple misunderstanding was not that he walked out the wrong door, and turned back inside. The patron attempted to take 4 bud light bottles out of our side exit and was instructed that this was not permitted due to local ordinance and liquor board bylaws for Baltimore City. Our business would receive a violation if witnessed by an inspector. Multiple violations can lead to the non-renewal and revocation of liquor license. Patron became hostile towards employee: Sinclair Gary when Sinclair instructed him the beers could not leave the business premises and. *****'s and his friends surrounded Sinclair and were physically threatening Sinclair Gary (4 guys on 1 staff member). * Sinclair is not an imposing or large individual, he is not confrontational and has not at any complaints in almost a decade of employment with our company. Our contracted security guard, who is posted at our front door observed the situation and presented his baton as a deterrent. There was no physical contact I spoke with management, Sinclair, as well as the contracted Security guard. Their accounts were all consistent and corroborated how the event in-fact unfolded. *****'s last alcoholic purchases were approx 1:30 am, he and his group had consumed multiple alcoholic beverages which may have contributed to a very one-sided recall of events. The guest will in no way, shape, or form be reimbursed. Furthermore he and his friends that wanted to assault an employee for nothing more than requesting them to abide by local liquor ordinances, they are permanently banned and not welcome on our property. Ii welcome the opportunity to set up a conference call or zoom meeting and get the contracted security and Sinclair Gary connected with the BBB. I believe they would be able to even more clearly inform the BBB and even ***** of what actually happened. My take on this is that ***** is not only a ****, but a liar and or delusional. As an organization do make mistakes, and when we do, we quickly take responsibility and do our best to amend and resolve the situation with the guest. This is a situation where ***** is so full of it, it's coming out of his ears. Please advise of how you would like to proceed Thanks, Eric ******* Owner
