This company poses as the IRS and tricks people into thinking they need to pay for an EIN number. After they get you to pay for the EIN number they try to steal more money by saying it’s crucial you pay for an LLC. I stupidly gave them my info as I thought they were the IRS and paid $275 for the EIN number. When I tried to use the EIN number I was told it was invalid. I filed a fraud report with my bank and had to freeze my card and credit reports.Business response

thought I was on actual IRS site did not realized it was not until my bank show BUSINESSTIN as biller for the site. I thought my card info had been fraudulently used. I want to do business with IRS not these people I immediately asked for a refund, the customer service rep said a refund would be issued be he did not have an confirmation number. I have not received the service, and I don't want the service. I want my money refunded. only a min went by from time I pay to i received bank notification and then call their customer service I'm 75 with poor eyesight that make their page look just like IRSBusiness response

On 3/28, I thought I was on the IRS website to get an EIN for a new LLC I was going to form. The website indicated that the EIN would be provided in 1-2 business days and I paid the $249 reluctantly and was then asked about adding further protection on a various of other “things that could happen if I didn’t file things correctly” which amounted to $816 total. Afterward I looked up more information realized that I had entered personal information on a third-party website. I emailed the company for a full refund as the website mimicked the IRS website and gave information that encouraged people who are trying to start a business and do everything correctly to spend an obscene amount of money on a service that is free. I am requesting a full refund and a guarantee that all of my personal information has been wiped from their database/system.Business response

This site is the first one that comes up when you search for EIN registration information. When you click on it, IRS also comes up in the website bar. Thought this was a legitimate website and paid for both EIN and LLC after receiving an email saying my EIN wouldn’t work unless I applied for an LLC. Realized after I was ******* and applied for myself on the actual sites. This website didn’t even ask for complete information for registering.Business response

On 3/18/2024, the website showed first on google to pay for the tax ID/EIN for a business. I paid $249 for the service and realized it was a free service through the IRS and immediately applied for that before calling to cancel. When I realized it, I called the number and spoke to the lady who said I would receive an immediate full refund but I have nothing to show that the order was cancelled nor that I was receiving my refund. The order has not even been processed yet and could've just been cancelled at that moment. I want all my personal information wiped from their entire database and not sold to a third party affiliate as I am not granting permission, and I need confirmation to show that they are agreeing to not do to. They charged me $249 to get my EIN I’m trying to start a sole proprietor business. I thought this was a site affiliated with the IRS. At first it said my payment was declined. My bank sent me a fraud message at 3:14 am 3/16/24, and then I went back to the web page and I did NOT proceed with the payment. Soon after I get an email at 6:48 AM 3/16/24 that my submission is being processed. I check my bank account and yea they took out the money out. I get home to call and cancel my payment. I was told it might not be possible depending on how far along the filling was. Also, the lady also did not want to give me her name just gave an “agent number: ****” I dont feel safe them having my information and just want my refund. And feel like I was scammed.Business response

On 3/12, I thought I was on the IRS website to get an EIN for a new LLC I was going to form. Afterward I looked up more information realized that I had entered personal information on a third-party website. I sent a message through their support portal on their website requesting that my order be cancelled. I also called their support line and did not get through to anyone - nor was their voicemail "personalized" in any way for their business. Applying for EIN . Searched and this website came up. Logo looks similar to IRS and went through questions and paid 279.00 all could have been done free. Got ahold of someone and said they cancelled the order and I would be refunded within 3-5 days. I think it is real shady business practices.Initial Complaint

I went through the process of filling on necessary paperwork to start my small business. I searched on google “IRS EIN Tax ID number”, this website came up and seemingly looked legitimate because it uses the IRS logo. First and foremost I am a student I do not have a steady income which is why I’ve decided to branch out and start my own small business. This company preys on new entrepreneurs and cons them into a service that they could easily do themselves for free if the were not mistaken directed to their third party website. I filled out my information as usual and never saw that there was an associated fee which deceptively looks correct because I know the IRS service is free. Later I saw a $249 dollar purchase on my DEBIT Card (I will be filling a dispute once the charge is out of my activity zone) I am scared and have had to freeze all of my accounts. This company has all my personal information. I demand a FULL Refund and that my ALL of my PERSONAL INFORMATION (which includes my name, phone number, address, Social Security number, date of birth, business name) be deleted from the website now. Please refund my order in full and fully delete my information.Business response
