JerryS Toyota in Nottingham, MD does not represent Toyota in a fair and equitable way. Today I drove with my children 1 hour from Southern Maryland to purchase the car that met our family needs. The price, the options and Toyota quality. When I arrived at the dealership I was asked for my zip code and told I could not purchase the car advertised online because I was not from the area. I would not be bringing them local business and i would have to pay full price. It went form 32,000 to 36,500. I felt so disappointed because i spent a lot of time researching this vehicle and willing to purchase from the dealership at the special advertised price. They told me that it had to deal with some internal polices. Why would you turn away someone and give only a distinct group of people the right the advertised price over others. That seems so unfair and unethical for a business to operate. I get the supply and demand issue but if this type of unfair practice of picking certain groups of people over other customers continues it will deter people from wanting to buy from Toyota. It really felt like it was discriminatory and unfair. And to have my children witness that type of behavior is not acceptable. I demand Toyota review thisJerry's Toyota, Inc.

I did review everything with my sales manager Toyota. We do have a disclaimer that the pricing is for our local customers. We are an independent dealer that focus on our local customers. There are plenty of reason why we do this. Sorry the sale did not work out for youReview fromKylie S

1 starI reached out to Jerry’s to inquire about the pricing on a corolla they had in stock, and I asked for them to send me over a breakdown of the out the door price—Chrissy told me that “to get accurate pricing” they’d like to invite me to their dealership. I told chrissy i was only interested in getting the numbers. I shared my zip code with her so she could get me a quote for tax purposes and told her I was already preapproved for a loan. She ignored my request and again told me that “For the clear and accurate pricing you seek, a visit to our dealership ensures everything falls into place.” I reiterated that I only wanted the quote and was happy to put a deposit down and buy the car asap if the numbers made sense for me. Again, Chrissy said, “I understand your need to have the pricing details prior to your visit. At Jerry's Toyota, we aim to ensure all aspects of your purchase are ready for your review during your visit.” I was so fed up at this point I just told chrissy i was no longer interested and she immediately replied and said she understood and that it would take time to get the info but she’d have it over right away (spoiler she never sent it!). fast forward the next day and i hadn’t heard back with the quote from chrissy when another sales person from this dealership named ashley reached out to ask me about my vehicle inquiry. i told her i had been working with chrissy to get the quote but still didn’t have it and Ashley then told me that per company policy at Jerry’s, she could not discuss pricing without me being physically in the showroom….i then told her i wasn’t interested then and that is the last communication i’ve had with them. i’m very disappointed with this dealership and just confused why they would lose out on business because they don’t want to work over email/phone? i have been in touch with many other toyota dealerships in the area all who were willing to share a quote with me over email before i came to their store.Review fromClaire E

5 starsA very professional dealership. Everyone is nice and kind. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. We had Joe Montoya, very good, honest mechanic, who would not sell you anything that your car does not need. Very highly recommended.Review fromKenneth S

1 starBait and switch! The advertised price is nowhere near the final price. Very hard sell, and if you don't know what you are doing you WILL get taken.Review fromCatherine J

1 starOn June 19, 2024, I brought my 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross to Jerry's Toyota at 8001 Belair Rd for scheduled maintenance & to address a recurring issue that I had reported to them 3 times previously. Unfortunately, my experience turned into one of violation & humiliation. I purchased my car in July 2023. On three occasions, the car abruptly shut off while I was driving: first at a red light with the message "Engine Stopped," then at a stop sign with the message "Engine Stopped - Steering Power Low," &again with the same message on another occasion. Reported these incidents to Jerry's Toyota. @ 10:15 am, I was informed around 12:30 pm that the technicians found no issues & that I needed to pay the $175 fee. I requested details on what was wrong with my car before agreeing to payment & asked to speak with a supervisor. Directed to Jessica *******, the Service Director, who greeted me with an indifferent attitude & asked, When I expressed my concern about driving an unsafe car & requested a replacement, she redirected me to Sales, stating it was not within her department's purview. She remarked on policies for customers who are reluctant to pay bills & indicated I could not return to Jerry's Toyota for service. Jessica became increasingly confrontational, emphasizing the technicians' need to be compensated. Feeling deeply humiliated & upset; I expressed surprise at her conduct as a representative of Toyota. Jessica called the police on me. Instead of the police, I was confronted by the General Manager, who abruptly & rudely instructed me to leave the premises, without introducing himself or listening to my concerns. This interaction left me feeling further disrespected & ignored. Now, I am left with an unsafe new vehicle that continues to cause me anxiety daily. I insisted on answers & resolution but was met with dismissal & ultimately forced to leave without a satisfactory resolution or understanding of my car's issues.Review fromSteve W

1 starI went to buy a used 2022 Honda due to my previous pleasant experience with Jerry's. After seeing the car online, I scheduled a test drive with a transparent and professional salesman. We discussed my trade-in offer of $4,000, a rear seat and trunk issue, and the exchange policy. He advised me to get another appraisal and said he'd check the exchange policy with his manager. The manager told him the exchange was 24 hours for used cars, but I recalled seeing a 7-day exchange policy online. Unable to find it during my visit. When I returned the next day with a $5,000 appraisal from Carmax, and a copy of the ad, the salesman checked with the manager again. the manager said the 7-day policy was new and starting next Monday but he would 'give it to me.' He then added repair costs for the rear seat and trunk to the car price and offered $4,500 for my trade. Confused, I asked why he contradicted the ad and added repair costs. He spoke dismissively from across the sales floor, claiming the 7-day policy was new, that I should be happy, and that he wouldn’t sell me the car if he had to cover repair costs. He made personal comments like, "I don’t know who hurt you or lied to you in the past, but I’m not him." The salesman intervened, to salvage the nearly lost sale, and we finalized the it with a higher trade-in value and assurance they'd fix the trunk issue. The following Monday, I spoke with the general manager (GM) about the other manager's behavior. I let him know that another manager informed this wasn’t an isolated incident with that other manager. The GM made excuses for Brent, suggesting he felt “challenged” or “threatened” by me, which was disturbing as a person of color. He even suggested I was challenging him when I asked how he would address the issue. Despite his microaggressions, he acknowledged the manager's customer service issues but refused to address the situation, undermining their slogan, "It’s About You." 1 starI took my car in for my 2nd free oil change at the end of April. They didn't complete the multiservice review as they didn't do a spot check of my brakes ( paper not checked off) Today, I had to have my brakes fixed. Not only new pads but new rotors at a cost of $180 for rotors. All because they were lazy. I've had nothing but terrible Service from them. They sell used cars that should t pass inspection. They pay a cheap company to give e inspections so they can resell the car. I k ow because I bought one and in 2 years, the frame was so rusted it wasn't driveable. The mechanic said it should not have passed inspection. In order to get another car, they wouldn't give me much on a trade, so I was forced to buy another car from them at an increased price. Another rip off. Bad business practices at this place. Buyer beware!Review fromOttie D

1 starMarch 2023, i inquired about a used car on the website with no photos and ended up speaking to Ben a new car sales manager I asked if they had actual photos of the car he told me not yet it's being inspected and detailed. I wanted to see pictures to make sure there were no big scraps, scratches or anything before going to the dealership. Ben assured me there wasn't that he personally did the trade and looked the car over and he would text me pictures the next day, well that never happened. The next afternoon I called and ended up speaking to Dimitri the used car sales manager to inquire about the photos. He starts telling me the cars being inspected and detailed and he's not sure he'll check and call me back and I was trying to tell him about my conversation with Ben at which point he starts getting rude telling me Ben doesn't know because he's in new car sales and just being rude, so I told him nevermind I'll buy a car somewhere else and he basically said go ahead he didn't care. Today 3/10/23 a few days later I check their website and pictures of the actual car are posted, I confirm it's still there and head to the dealership I get there and ask to speak to the general manager and told he wasn't there. So I go look at the car and all 4 corners of the bumpers have deep scratches and gouges. I go inside and Fletcher the salesman introduces me to Ben then I asked who's that in the office and was told it was Dimitri who says I'm who you cussed out on the phone the other day (never happened) and it was down hill from there, he is unprofessional, he told me I could leave that he wasn't selling me a car. I go drive the car after Fletcher says they will fix the bumpers, they wanted me to pay for those repairs. The manager there after my test drive named Chad leaves and I'm told he's the general manager so I follow him to complain about Dimitri, he knew what happened but didn't talk to me until I approached him. Horrible customer service and unprofessionalism. Beware!Review fromMike H

1 starJan 2023, I Talked to the General Mgr Matt on the phone about purchasing a Tacoma. He said he would sell me the Tacoma at MSRP and would give me the best deal possible. He told me to ask for him when I arrived. I drove up from approx. 1.5 hours away, he wouldn’t even come out and talk to me. He set me up with salesman Yong He who made some very unprofessional comments during our conversation. The dealer adds in $995 for LoJack, saying it’s already installed you have to have it. They added 1k over MSRP like I wasn’t going to notice. They appraised my two week old 23’ Tacoma Sport 4x4 LB with 1k miles at 35k, MSRP was almost 43k and KBB lowest trade in value is 38k up to 40k on a 22’ (23’ is not in KBB system yet) What a joke and a waste of my day off. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
