Property address: ******************************NE, Washington, DC ***** In 2021, I hired Blue Collar Scholars to replace a fence around the perimeter of my backyard and to build a treebox. Work began in spring 2022.After much delay, the fence work was completed in June 2023. No treebox was constructed. On June 22, 2023, I received a "final invoice" for $4450.00, which included the price of building a treebox. On June 23, I spoke to ***** in the office and requested a new invoice that removed the value of the treebox work not performed. As ***** requested, I emailed those details to [email protected] on June 23. I have not receive an amended invoice, nor any other communication from Blue Collar Scholars since June 23.On July 18, Blue Collar Scholars charged the full $4450.00 to the credit card that I'd paid my deposit with in October of 2021. I did not authorize this payment. On July 26, I called Blue Collar Scholars and left a detailed voice mail, requesting a call back to discuss a billing issue. I have received no return call nor any other communication.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/25/2023

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to formally respond to the dispute raised by our client, *********************************, regarding a recent charge on her account. The purpose of this communication is to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation and present evidence to support our position.

    Customer Name: *********************************
    Disputed Amount: $4,450.00
    Transaction Date: 07/18/2023
    Invoice/Transaction ID: Invoice: ****

    Background:
On 06/02/2023, our company successfully completed the requested work for ******************, in accordance with the terms of the agreed-upon contract. The corresponding payment was duly processed, and the services were provided as per her requirements.

    Dispute Summary:
****************** is currently disputing the charge on the basis of seeking a full refund. While we understand her concerns, we would like to emphasize that the services in question were rendered as agreed upon and, consequently, the charge was validly incurred.

    Response and Evidence:

    1. Work Completion: Attached herewith are copies of the signed contract and supporting documentation indicating the successful completion of the project. The evidence substantiates that the services were provided as per the agreed scope and to the satisfaction of *******************
Payment Acknowledgment: We have attached a copy of the invoice and proof of payment, acknowledging that the payment was processed for the services rendered.

    2. Terms and Conditions: Our company's terms and conditions were provided to ****************** prior to engaging in the project. These terms clearly stipulate our policy on refunds and cancellations.
Partial Completion: We acknowledge that there was an error in communication, resulting in a portion of the project not being completed as initially intended. However, it's important to note that the value of the refund for the incomplete work is $350, as the successful completion of the fence work has already been carried out. We are willing to refund this amount of $350, as it represents the value of work that couldn't be completed.

    3. Resolution: We genuinely regret any misunderstandings that have arisen in this situation. Our aim has always been to provide top-notch services to our clients, and we are committed to addressing any concerns promptly.

In light of the evidence presented, the completion of the work, and the value of the refund for the work not completed, we kindly request that the disputed charge be upheld, we kindly request permission to proceed with a refund of only the $350 and that the payment remains valid. The services were performed in accordance with the agreement, and as such, we believe the charge was justly applied.

We remain open to any further discussions with ****************** and are willing to address her concerns to the best of our abilities.

Please feel free to reach out if any additional information is required from our end. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to its swift resolution.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Sincerely,

    *************************************** ******.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 09/10/2023

    Hello!

Unfortunately this matter is not closed. I spoke with *********, the General Manager, on Friday, September 1. She offered me a small refund for the tree box work that was not performed and said she would talk to her boss, ***, about a larger refund. ********* promised that she would email me information about what they could do for me on Saturday, September 2.

    I have heard nothing.

Unfortunately, this is emblematic of my 2023 communication with Blue Collar Scholars. I've been trying to schedule a call with ********* since May. We connect *one time,* I am promised follow-up, and then it doesn't happen. It is again on me to push for someone at Blue Collar Scholars to get me some kind of answer.

Is there anything you can do to spur BCS to follow through?
