They are hands down the WORST company I have ever dealt with. Period. Our generator stopped automatically switching over to power our house last year, and I called them to fix it. We have had an annual maintenance contract with them ever since Suburban got out of the business. Their tech came out and promptly told me we needed to replace the circuit breaker in the generator box, as it was faulty. Work was scheduled, deposit paid, and in December of last year, he replaced the breaker. All fixed. Funny thing, he never tested it and was gone in ten minutes. In every outage since that time, the generator still did not automatically switch over to power our house. I called their office repeatedly on those occasions and the office person checked with techs in the office to try various things, like switch it on and off several times to see if that would correct it. I was forced each time to stand out in the storm and rain and try things to get the generator to power our house. I eventually got it working most of the time through trial and error, although never directly as a result of the sage advice from their technicians. If we were not home, having the generator running merrily along with no load while we lose the contents of our refrigerator and freezer, the situation would have been even worse. Even though we have an annual maintenance contract, every time they send someone to our house, they charge me a service call. During the last outage, the entire neighborhood lost power due to a downed tree, and both our house and our neighbor could not get our generators to automatically switch over to power our homes. Yet again. Joel and a newbie came, first to our neighbor' s house and then to our house. Joel told our neighbor his generator needed new brushes, which he would order once a deposit was paid. He told me we not only needed new brushes but also a voltage regulator. No mention that the $350 circuit breaker he replaced in December was no longer the culprit. (Which means it probably did not need replacing.) An estimate was sent to me for $629.25 to make the repairs. Then they sent me an invoice for a $250 service call. They still had not fixed the problem that they supposedly fixed last December, so wouldn't that be a warranty issue? And what is the purpose of the $400 annual maintenance contract, if every time their truck shows up they send me another invoice? I do NOT recommend this company, whether they do business as A to Z Power and Storm Center, or A to Z Contracting.
