The shop "diagnosed" a leak with an AC line and told me that it will take a few days to get the line in. I was happy to leave the car there and wait for it to be done. With every person that I spoke to, I made it abundantly clear that I ABSOLUTELY needed the car back by Saturday at the latest. Every person I spoke to said it should be fine and realistically it would be done by Friday. Friday rolls around and it's not ready. But I was assured it'll be done Saturday. I call the shop Saturday lunchtime and they told me it's being worked on and will be done by the afternoon. After that, no more communication. I heard absolutely nothing until I called the shop the next week. I was absolutely FURIOUS. Not because of delays; because I get it, stuff happens. But because not a single person at the shop bothered to inform me of the delays. Had they taken the time to call, I would've come by, taken my things out of the car and got a rental car and my Sunday plans (which were made weeks ago) could've been salvaged. This was not acceptable. The cherry on top is that after picking up my car the next week, guess what? They found ANOTHER LINE THAT LEAKED. It was apparent by this point that they never rain the initial diag properly using U/V dye. They simply pumped the system with freon and let that stuff escape...I'm sure the EPA loves these folks. I had enough, was not going to just sit around and let them blindly replace lines and parts in the system until they happen to find the culprit of the a/c issues. The diag "the mechanic can hear from this line" isn't enough when there are multiple lines close together. To rub salt into the wound; they also charged a full hour of labour ($124.99) to replace the serpentine belt. JUST THE FREAKING BELT?!?!?! Replacing the belt on a Subaru Outback is super easy; literally 5 minutes. I did it last week. The freaking audacity to charge an hour to replace only the belt, and I repeat, JUST THE BELT not the tensioner, is absolute insanity.
