We made an agreement with Juan****** ***** of Frederick Quartz & Remodeling to remove our old kitchen counter and replace it with brand new Quartz. Although I do like the look of the stone (minus the imperfections) their customer service or lack of it is just horrible. He must be the busiest man in the world, in 10+ weeks he hasn't had a chance to come take a look at the issue. I immediately contacted him the day after the work was completed (3/16/22) and made him aware of the problem. I reached out to him 6 times via text and he kept saying he would come out to take a look at it. The last contact we had with him was on 4/12/22. My wife spoke with him on the phone and he said yet again that he would come out when he got the chance. We have not heard from him in over 1.5 months. This just tells me that he knew his work was subpar, this was also proven by the putty/substance that he put on the chip/divot to try and cover it up (I made him aware of this on 3/1/7/22 and he did not deny it). We paid him close to $5000, he should have come out immediately, there really is no excuse. I have 2 issues with his work. 1) the chip/divot in the Quartz that can be clearly seen; and 2) the plumbing adjustments that he made when he put in the sink. A few weeks after he put in the Quartz I had a master plumber come to replace my garbage disposal. He explained that the set up Juan put in was not up to county code and would not pass inspection. I had to pay him $250 to get the piping up to code. I believe that a more than reasonable time has passed for him to come make the corrections and therefore I'm looking for compensation at this point. I'm looking for the reimbursement for the new plumbing and a reasonable refund for the imperfections to the Quartz. I sent him a certified letter asking him to respond via text by 5/12/22 but he did not. I told him in the letter that if I did not hear from him that I would be contacting the BBB, Frederick County and the MD Dept. of Labor.
