On March 2, 2022 I had an in home visit from Joshua N***** at KW Mechcanical (https://kwmechanicalhvac.com/) to get an estimate for a new hot water heater and HVAC in my condominium. On March 11 , KW emailed me a written estimate totaling $12,726 ($6940 for the HVAC and $5,786.00 for the water heater). After agreeing to the bid, I promptly paid a deposit of $6000 and scheduled the work. On April 11, Mr. N***** and David P***** from KW installed the new hot water heater and on April 12 they installed the HVAC system (Air handler with hot water coil: ******* and Comfortmaker Air Conditioner: *************). Since that time, the HVAC has not been working properly. It is extremely noisy, short cycles on a continuous basis, and is not cooling relative to the thermostat setting and irrespective of ambient outdoor temperature. Furthermore, my electirc bills have increased significantly since the work was performed and the way the unit was installed makes replacing air filters extremely difficult. I now regret promptly paying the balance for the work, having also paid an additional $500 to another contractor for drywall repair. On multiple occasions since early June, I have attempted to contact KW by phone, text, and email to express my dissatisfaction and request that they immediately schedule a follow-up appointment to make any and all necessary modifications and repairs. The only response from KW thus far has been them emailing me an invoice which I had previously paid. There is a one year warranty on the HVAC and I sense this company is unethically trying to run out the clock and evade responsibility for incomplete work. It is startling that KW refuses to acknowledge my requests since the company has a contract to maintain our common area HVAC and otherwise has a good reputation. Josh and David were both consummate profesionals but given the company's silence I intend to share my experience with all other condo owners in the building.
