Dear Better Business Bureau, Hi, my name is *******************, and I would like to bring to light the mistreatment that I feel my family and I went through from the business, Furever Safe Rescue located in Hughesville, MD owned by Kim P*****. To explain, I called the rescue to seek help with a 5-week-old puppy my husband had adopted and purchased from a family in Delaware. I spoke to Andrea, who is a rescue volunteer, about a few concerns about the puppy, she explained that a puppy that young could have health and behavior problems and that the rescue would be glad to look at him. So, I took the pup to her place of work, ********* ******** next to ******* in Charlotte Hall, MD, and gave him to her. I called that night to check in on him and asked when we would be getting him back after she looked after him to make sure he was healthy. She explained that I rendered him over and that he was no longer my family’s pet. I called her and Kim throughout the next day, Saturday, March 11, 2022, and Kim answered, who was extremely rude to me saying I was wasting her and her volunteers’ time. She and Andrea even offered money for the purchase of the puppy, which we denied. She said that to return him to us she would talk to Andrea and call me back. Not once did she call back. Autumn a volunteer with the rescue called my husband that evening, wanting to know what happened, and explained that she will come over the next day on March 12, 2022, for a well-check, which we passed. She explained that if we wanted to get the puppy back that an application to adopt the puppy back needed to be filled out. A week after filling out the application we were told that we would receive a letter by mail letting us know if we were accepted or denied by the agency, ******** ****** ******* to adopt the puppy. Two weeks go by with no letter but a phone call from Autumn telling us we were denied and that the pup was already adopted by another family. I am at a loss for what to do. Please help me.
