      I'm really unhappy and FRUSTRATED with Gavigan's Furniture lack of customer service. Kathy (manager in Frederick) confirmed on January 26th that she would be picking up a couple of items (mattress protectors) from the warehouse prior to the delivery of our furniture. She didn't. We have been told several times that they will be available to pick up "tomorrow" or "in a couple of days". We have had our mattress for a week, but cannot sleep on it without the protectors, or risk voiding the Sleep Better guarantee. As of today, 10 DAYS LATER, still no word on when the protectors will be at the Frederick store. Also, only half of the split king-size mattress was delivered and we're told it will be a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks for the other half !!! Terrible customer service.

      We bought a sofa, chair and 1/2 and two leather recliners in February 2024. They delivered the furniture and one of the leather recliners was broken on delivery. They said they would send someone out to look at the chair and fix it. I had to call several times to get them to send someone. Now, I should have refused delivery but we didn't know it was broken until it was set up and we actually sat in it. The entire metal mechanism was bent. They said they would order the parts and fix it and that it happens all the time (not a good sign). A month went by and another tech shows up a knows nothing about the part that needs to be ordered. So he says he will order the part. This resulted in more phone calls and Gavigans assured me that the part was on order but takes weeks to arrive. We are 3 months out and still have a broken chair and no parts to fix it. Also, the fabric on the couch is already pilling after just a month and the ottoman cushion has a dent in it just from resting your legs on it. I would highly recommend that you don't do business with these people. The product is crap and service is crap. Once you spend your money they don't care about you anymore. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. I wasted thousands of dollars and I am sorry for it. Never again. UPDATE August 2024 Still no resolution, don’t know how they get away with it. Recliner still broken and I am still trying to get resolution. DON’T SHOP HERE!

      STAY AWAY ??? DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE! They are scammers & fraud! Ordered a couch from them almost 3 months ago I was originally told 4-6 weeks then it turned into 6-8 weeks NOW it’s 8-10 weeks! They will not give me delivery date & refuses to give me a refund! The manager Tony at the Catonsville is a liar & a scammer! Every time I called everybody in the store would lie for the manager and say he not there or give me the run around. When I finally had enough of being lied to on the phone I went to the store and me & my girlfriend was physically assaulted by the manager and the worker! This is the worst situation I have ever been in & feel sick to my stomach I ever spent my money here! PLEASE STAY AWAY ?????????????? *UPDATE FROM MY LAST REVIEW After I filed a complain with the BBB I received a blocked phone call from the “owner” of the store. I was threatened and called out my name several times. He told me I was poor, and I would never get my money back and so many other horrible & disgusting things.

      Very poor customer service once you buy a furniture. I bought a sofa at the Towson location Friday the 15th of March 2024., and I told the salesman and the manager that I want to pick up the sofa myself at their Linthicum warehouse the following day and they told me sure but to call their 410.609.2114 number before going to the warehouse. I called the following day in the morning, and I told them I want to come in the afternoon to pick the sofa and I was told it is okay. I got two other people to go and help me carry the sofa. Once I reached the warehouse called to say I am at the warehouse the same woman I had spoken to earlier said I Connot pick up the sofa. When I asked why she let me come all the way and I had called in the morning to confirm, she hang up on me. The guy at the warehouse was instructed not to give the sofa to me. We wasted a whole day and to make the matter worse the same woman who had told me is okay to go pick it up is the same woman who said I cannot pick it up when I arrived at the warehouse. They treated me like they are doing me a favor to buy furniture from them and as if I am nuisance for asking why they let us come all the way to the warehouse if they were not going to release sofa or was not available. They are good at the floor when selling to you but once you buy you will be treated like trash.

      We bought a $2000 mechanical recliner, including the warranty, in January, and it was delivered in April. In July, the backing came apart at the top, exposing a nail and a very sharp metal piece that cut me and my toddler. I contacted Gavigan's immediately and they sent me to ********, who said they were going to take care of it. It's now November 19. No one has been out to look at it, no new chair replacement has been ordered, etc. when I spoke to ******** about this in October, they said they ordered new upholstery in July in case it can be fixed (this can't be fixed). still waiting. No reason my brand new chair takes this long to be fixed. Our brand new $4500 couch also bought in January and delivered in April also now has a few flat cushions. We will never buy from Gavigans again. Their products are not well made, are too expensive to be wearing out in just a few months, and regardless of the warranty, they're not committed to fixing their furniture in a timely manner. We were looking at a $10,000 bedroom set in January with plans to purchase within a year. That is NOT going to happen. I'd rather buy from ***** ********. At least their furniture lasted more than a few months.

      Buyers Be Aware!!! I should have read the complaints from here before buying a massive amount of furniture from them. I should have paid attention when I first noticed a problem that they did not want to take responsibility for - when furniture were delivered last October, I noticed the sofa I purchased did not have the pull down cup holders as seen in the store. I called up the salesman and was told that was what I purchased and pointed out I signed it and they could do nothing about it - given I was in the store and pointed out what I wanted, they were expecting the customer to know what these codes reference. It was almost a bait and switch. That was first experience - while not happy I could live with it. 2nd biggest mistake, about 8 months in, a furniture technician who was at my house for a different purpose point out a side crack on my dresser. I reported it to the insurance company immediately (I had purchase their extended warranty), the fix was minimal and they just had to replace the crack part, I get notification a few months after that its past the one year warranty, and they couldn’t do anything. When I refuted that it was reported earlier, they than indicated the manufacturer warranty is only for 30 days and I should have checked the furniture thoroughly - I called up the store 4 times before someone called me back, and then they said they couldn’t do any either even though I have extended warranty. They said they would get back to me, and it’s been a week now with no respond. Bottom line, they used all sorts of excuses to not address their own lack of quality and lack of responsibility - now I have no one who’s willing to take accountability. Just trying to figure out whether I should get a lawyer involve at this point. I hate companies that toot themselves about quality and guarantees their quality then do not honor the spirt of the purchase.

      I started a warranty claim 6/27/23 regarding two faulty controls for my reclining couch and recliner. They sent a repairman out to diagnose the obvious problem who informed me they would order the replacement parts and get back to me. I’ve called ******* several times and usually give up after 30-45 minutes on hold and emails are not returned. I’ve contacted Gavigans who promised to look into it and get back to me but it’s been over two weeks since I’ve heard from them. I wouldn’t recommend buying ANYTHING from this place and definitely don’t fall for the “extra” warranty coverage scam.

      G Gavigan Furniture 10:14 AM Hello Doug & Shana W********,This is Gavigan's... me 12:32 PM to Gavigan v Hello. Gavigan's I would like to know why my issues haven't been addressed? When we bought this furniture we were asked to wait 6-8 weeks which was fine with us. We are now at the end of week 13 and we are finally getting our furniture that I paid for in full 13 weeks ago. I stopped by to talk to my sales person twice once when the GM was there as well. I mentioned to them that I should get a discount for the inconvenience. They said they would get back to me. Nothing!! I sent an email to Gavigan's. Heard nothing. I've been living in Westminster for 20 years and Gavigan's has always been my furniture store. I thought I earned your respect but I guess not. I do want to thank you for finally having a delivery date. Thank you ?

      My 82 year old mother ordered a living room chair, and is 100% dis-satisfied with the product. She paid $1100, waited 6 months for the chair, and it's it of the poorest construction any of us has ever seen. The thoracic and lumber cushions are not sewn together in a straight line, the foot rest is crooked with the right side rubbing against the chair itself, the motor groans and pops out pieces of wood every time someone tests it out. The store refuses to take it back, passing on responsibility to the manufacturer and they too refuse to take it back. The manufacture representative has come to look at it and said it is a bad motor, and offered to have them rebuild it--in her living room! When she spoke with another manufacture representative they suggested the whole chair be rebuilt-again in her living room. This is absolutely the worst customer service and an egregious example of taking advantage of an elderly person. This is outrageous to expect an elderly person to have multiple strangers in their house under any circumstances, but most especially during this time of so many high risk airborne illnesses. Gavigan's home furnishing does not stand behind their products. This will be followed up with a letter to the states attorney.

      They were very fast to sell me furniture, collect the money, but not deliver. I purchased furniture on June 23, 2022. Was told by the salesman that it would be about 45 days. Here we are October, no response. If I had been told this would not be delivered until possibly November or December, I would have never bought it. Once they get your money, they are extremely rude. They definitely need some lessons in customer service. If you don't realize that you will be dealing with unhappy customers, then don't get into customer service. The last woman I spoke to antagonized and made a bad situation worse. Will never purchase from this establishment again. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.
