I have been a Rent-a-Center customer for close to 10 years. I have not missed a payment, nor have I ever been late. Under my current agreement, I make weekly payments every saturday. Since the Northeast Rent-A-Center got a new store manager, she has been calling me every Friday or Saturday morning to let me know about my payment. She does not wait to call until my payment is late. I do not need a reminder to pay my bill. If she had called on Monday morning, I would understand. But she calls before the payments even due. I feel that she is unwarranted in making these premature calls. In fact it's gotten to the point where I feel like I'm being harassed and treated unfairly. I know she's got to do her job, but her job is not to remind an adult to pay their bill before it's even due. She has even threatened to come and pick up the product that I'm buying if I don't make the payment. And this is all before the payment is even due. This didn't happen when the old store manager was running the store. It is only started happening since the new store manager took over a month ago. Omeca ********** has been very unprofessional and rude.

    Business response

    09/09/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/08/15) */ Rent-A-Center policy includes a reminder call on Saturday afternoon for any customer that is not set up for Auto Pay. The current customer did not have any communication set on his account where payment reminders were not wanted. So on this particular day, either the store manager or another representative called to give him a friendly reminder that is renewal payment was needed and to also suggestively sell other or new products in the store. Once the customer customer complained through our 800 number, the District Manager notated the account for no one to call him on Saturday for the reminder calls. We have spoken with this customer again and ask if he has received any other contact and he responded NO. So the problem has been taken care of at this point.
