    My cat Marmalade got his second dose of the rabies vaccine at Fullerton Animal Hospital on May 19. The receptionist did not tell me the truth when I phoned to make his appointment for the first dose. I asked her "How much does the vaccine cost?" and she told me for the 1-year dose it would be $29.40. She failed to mention that that was for 29.40 each dose and that I would be charged $57 each visit for the veterinarian. That is dishonest. On what planet is it OK to tell someone they will pay $29.40 when in fact they will be paying closer to $200?

Our goal is to provide the best services for our patients and have everyone satisfied at the end of the visit. Unfortunately, the doctor that provided these services on the date in question is no longer at our practice and unavailable for comment. It appears that the patient received 1 Rabies Vaccine at that visit. The owner also consented to a booster vaccine for the FVRCP kitten series. While it is standard to charge for the veterinarian's time to examine the pet at the scheduled appointment, we regret if this was not properly communicated to the client. The total cost of that visit on that date was $124.24, not $200. As a sign of goodwill, we are happy to refund the $57.00 charge for the exam. We can not refund the cost of the vaccinations that the owner consented to and were administered at the time of the appointment. Gave the client the option to receive a check, which could take up to 3-4 weeks to get processed, or could refund the card that was used at the day of the appointment. Client elected to have the refund issued back to her Mastercard. $57 was applied.
