I bought a tuner from AAM Competition on Jan 16. They were quick the send the tuner through the mail but it has came unregistered. I have reached out to them multiple times to get them to register it but have been blocked from there website and refuse to answer my emails and calls. I spent 995 dollars plus shipping to not even receive my product use. Now it sits here without a purpose as I can't register it myself.Initial Complaint

I (***** *****) attached a screenshot of my latest email to the company (AAM Competition LLC) summarizing the timeline of events. They have had my car since October 24, 2023. They have received a total of $24,916.98 in payments ($18,416.98 from the warranty company ************* and $6,500). Since around May, they have been telling me that the engine is at an undisclosed "machine shop" and that the machine shop "is just running behind". Every single phone call update since May has been "I literally just talked to the machine shop, we should have the engine back in a couple of weeks," or, "Ah yeah I just spoke with them last week, they said it'll be done at the end of this month." But they refuse to disclose what machine shop my engine is supposedly at. In August of 2024 they have began dodging my phone calls. I have to use burner numbers to get a hold of them. I have sent friends to the shop, they give them the same run around, and then ghost. **** warranty is unable to get ahold of them. I believe something has happened to my engine block, they've sold it out from under me, or they are biding their time until they can declare bankruptcy.Initial Complaint

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my recent order, which has been significantly delayed. I placed an order for a turbo kit on February 19, 2024, and to date, the item has yet to be shipped.Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, including contact via email, virtual chat, and telephone, I have only received inconclusive responses that have not provided any resolution or further information. This lack of effective communication is highly frustrating and unacceptable. The prolonged delay and inadequate customer support are causing considerable inconvenience. I kindly request immediate clarification on the status of my order and a definitive shipping date. Additionally, I would appreciate information on any measures AAM Competition will take to prevent similar issues in the future. We**;d like the product to be delivered. Also, I**;m attaching some screenshots from conversations, receipt and proof of payment from the product.I hope you have a nice day, let me know if there**;s any *********** regards,Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a formal complaint against **** ********, the owner of AAM Competition, regarding the lack of communication and delays in completing work on my vehicle.I entrusted my 2010 ****** GTR to AAM Competition on April 19th for necessary repairs and upgrades. Since then, the communication from Mr. ******** and his team has been extremely poor. Despite numerous attempts to get updates on the status of my vehicle, I have received no response to my calls or emails. Most recently, I sent an email to Mr. ******** which included the following:Subject: Update on GTR Work Status ****,Any updates on completing the work on my GTR? Ive been in contact with Jacks Transmissions and they said that they have yet to receive my transmission from you guys. I was hoping to get this wrapped up as my vehicle has been with you guys since April 19th and I would really like to get it on the road again. Please let me know.Despite this clear request for an update, I have still not received any response or acknowledgment. This lack of communication is unacceptable and unprofessional. The delay and uncertainty have caused significant inconvenience and frustration, especially considering my vehicle has been in their possession for over two months now.I am seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau to resolve this issue promptly. Specifically, I am requesting:1. Immediate communication from **** ******** or a representative of AAM Competition regarding the current status of my vehicle.2. A clear timeline for the completion of the work on my 2010 ****** GTR.3. Assurance that my transmission has been or will be sent to Jacks Transmissions promptly, and an explanation for the delay.I trust the BBB can assist in facilitating a resolution to this matter.Thank you for your attention to this complaint.Initial Complaint

On June 23rd I made a purchase through AAM’s website for an exhaust part. This part is two individual sections that replace OEM factory parts for performance and sound. I finally got around to having these modifications installed by a certified mechanic, with the hardware the company (AAM) provided me. A month or so pass and I developed a noticeable exhaust leak. I was worried but assumed it was a simple gasket issue. I leave the car at my mechanic’s shop and he calls me later that day to explain the pipe had a giant hole as if it had exploded, possibly due to manufacturing defects. I contacted AAM’s customer service and provided their response team with multiple photos, explaining my situation. Weeks went by with no response. I have since made two more emails more than a month later with no responses. This part that was installed would never explode a hole of this size like I experienced in any normal conditions. I reached out multiple times and AAM refuses to reach out and solve or comment on this issue. The location of this part would not have failed from any driving either due to it’s location. This part failed due to their improper design.Initial Complaint

We paid for a new engine in 01/18/2023 for $10,398.22. The buisness said the engine should be ready by or before April. As that date approached there was still no new engine ready for us. Always excuses. By May still nothing. Multiple calls and emails that were not responded to. They were very horrible about touching base. By first week of June I was told it was ready but then anther 3-4 weeks went by with no shipping tracking number. On July 5th I when I emailed they sent a picture of the engine etc ready but still had not shipped. July 10th we ended up driving from Chicago to Maryland to pick up the engine. When we returned home we began install. The engine once installed would not turn over or on. We ended up taking it to a shop for them to troubleshoot in-between their normal work jobs. After couple weeks of trouble shooting making sure entering connected correctly and all fluids filled, they tried to get the engine started and it was froze up. No good...it would not turn over and was stuck in place. I have tried to approach Mike Mahaffey via email and phone. Once again no response. Previously I had an issue getting my shipping and handling charges back from them because we picked it up and had to go through my credit card. It took over a month. When I approached my credit card company again in regards to the faulty merchandise and the full amount paid. My credit card company recieved a response that he had denied giving a credit back nor has he tried to contact me to make it right. Exchange the engine something in good faith. I had that feeling from the beginning as they kept giving excuses that this was going to be the end result.Initial Complaint

We have no responsibility with the issue(s) this customer Michael ***** is having. We didn’t do the original installation, and sense we have seen the car at our shop (couple years ago) the customer has had an engine replacement by another facility and transmission build for extreme horsepower at yet another different facility.
Here is a video we recently made the Michael after looking over his vehicle so that he can go to the other two facilities and try to see if they want to be accountable for their multiple mistakes:
From what I understand the customer is in the process of purchasing a home and doesn’t want to spend any money on this vehicle right now. The customer was hoping the Nissan dealership (whom we believe is primarily responsible for the issues) would take accountability, but they are deferring to the transmission shop (who worked on the vehicle after they did – and quite possibly may also share some of the responsibility as well). I think Michael was hoping the transmission shop would take accountability, but I do not believe they are.
A couple days ago the course of action was for Michael to transport his car back home until his new house purchase is finalized, as during a home purchase you cannot spend a lot of money for financing reasons, and once the home was purchased he could circle back to his 370Z.
However, just this morning, we spoke to Michael and now he would like us to either:
- Install new plugs, so that he can drive on/off trailer and into his garage, and lightly use the car as needed to move it.
- Fix so that he can reasonably drive his car on a regular basis (with the understanding that it shouldn’t be raced).
We are working on those estimates for him and will be updating him later this afternoon.
Thank you,
Mike ********

My initial contact with AAM Competition, LLC was June 19, 2021 and it was to purchase a Twin Turbo Kit for a 2010 Nissan 370Z. Around August 25, 2021 I reached out to Scott Haskins to inform AAM that I had traded up from the 2010 Nissan to a 2020 Nissan 370Z and asked if there would be any issues with the Twin Turbo Kit accommodating the new vehicle. They assured me that the kit would fit and the only changes would be to the tuning software and hardware. I immediately purchased the necessary equipment based on their recommendation. Beginning December 2021, the kit started arriving in different time frames and in 5 different boxes and was notified that my kit had been fully delivered. I carefully opened and photographed all parts contained within each box and discovered many parts were not included that should have been. January 11, 2022 Mr. Haskins replied with an apology and stated that he would be sending the missing parts promptly. Parts arrived January 18. January 19, 2022 I dropped off the kit with what I assumed was now complete and ready to install to Adrenaline Performance, LLC. Right away Adrenaline Performance contacted me to notify me that parts were still missing from the kit and on Feb 23 after failed attempts to work with Mr. Haskins to correct this issue, Adrenaline filed a complaint with BBB and emailed me a copy of the list of missing parts they were attempting to order from AAM. Adrenaline attempted to install, fabricate and adjust as much as they could in an effort to accommodate the kit but it simply did not fit my vehicle even though on AAM website it clearly states "No Headache Install with OEM style fit and minimal fabrication or modification required...and instructions". I have photos from several stages of install as well as a letter from Adrenaline outlining the deficiencies of the kit, the improper fit of kit to vehicle and their attempts at contacting AAM to no avail. AAM will not return my calls or emails.Business Response

However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
