Problem: the HVAC units of both floor levels were undersized when installed by Classics experiencing uncomfortable cold conditions in winter and high temperatures in summer inside the house. As a result, a premature failure of the AC units occurred. In summer of last year (2021), our AC unit on 1st floor failed and multiple technicians declared that it was time for a replacement unit. However, we decided to have a closer look at the thermal load and sizing of the HVAC units. Last year, I did reach out to Classic Homes via Tamika A*** on 10/23/2021 asking for a copy of the HVAC load calculations which she replied 2 days later that she couldn’t obtain the information due to the time that has passed since construction. Few of the reasons why we thought the system may have been undersize were: 1. House struggle to get temperature lower than 70F in summer or higher than 65F in winter. Obviously, the condition in summer gets worse when having few visitors. 2. We have conducted efficiency surveys in the past which have shown that the house is well sealed and insulated. 3. We installed ceiling fans in all rooms and shades in all windows to minimize the impact in summer and in winters. 4. **** (********* *** *** ********) provides periodic benchmark reports which showed that our ‘neighbors’ are always more efficient - even with older houses. 5. Our electricity bills are high basically in summer and winter as they units seem to be running constantly to keep up. 6. We have recently noticed that our neighbors have HVAC units are bigger (more tonnage) than ours having comparable size homes. 7. Final stroke was the AC unit deemed unusable and needed to be replaced this past summer of 2021 after only 10 years (none of our neighbors with older houses had replaced theirs yet). I reached out to Classics homes via Barry M******** first in March 21 2022 and followed up with another 3 emails on April 8, April 19, and May 17th and no response from any member of Classic homes.
