I signed up for Neighborhood Sun last April. Now it's January. It has cost me more for electricity than if I had stayed with my utility. You can't get ahold of them. I've left voicemails and emailed them multiple times requesting cancellation - no response. There's a cancellation option on their website stating that you can fill out a form, but no form supplied. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM.

I got this service thinking it would help lower my power bill, it did not or if it did only by a few dollars but I was being charged HUNDREDS by Neighborhood Sun. When I requested to have my account closed and to no longer be charged it is taking over 3 months to do this! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY!

Worst company I've ever encountered. It took over a year to get enrolled, verified and to receive the promised gift card. The final straw was when a "Senior Subscriber Advocate" called and left me a voice mail accusing me of not providing a working email address (false), claimed my email address had changed (it hasn't), stated "we're sending it to emails that are not opening" (emails open on my end so I have no idea what that means.) She complained she was at risk of losing her job because her boss was "really ****** off" for not following up, claimed the gift car was sent, yelled at me to check my email again, told me to "LOOK AT IT!" and again complained "I can lose a job over your $50 problem". Then said "stop making this something I'm doing wrong." She even offered to venmo me the money if I promised to venmo it back once I received the gift card. I later received an explanation from someone else stating it was their giftcard vendor that was making the mistake.... They may claim to be doing good things but no amount of savings is worth the harrassement and abuse I received.

These people are total scam! I have canceled my account with them in April, to which they told me I had $50 left to pay. Well each month they have been taking anywhere from $70 to $90 out of my bank account and they won't stop. I have emailed them multiple times and they email me back with a bunch of things to intentionally confuse me. Don't let them have access to your bank account. They will continue to take money out of your bank account until you contact the bank to stop them.

A person representing this company came to my door and told my husband and I that he was working with neighborhood sun and that he was in the neighborhood because there was an influx of customers in the area who were not receiving credit from Xcel because they did not pass a “test” and that Xcel owes the customers money. He said that he was here to look at invoices to determine if we were among the ones that Xcel owed monthly money to. Choosing to buy into clean energy is different than being lied to and scammed into paying another company for energy. The entire time we were having a conversation he was writing our information into a contract for us without allowing us to see what he was doing. We were able to make it away from the man even though he waited at the door while we called to confirm our suspicions with Xcel for 25 minutes. They have been told that they were not allowed on private property at multiple locations and still continue to violate that warning. If you are approached by these people call the police.

I was just about to sign up when, at the end of the application they asked for a credit card. This makes me very leery when any company asks me for that. So, for now I'm going to back down to watch and see what develops with other consumers.

I made the mistake of checking out the neighborhood sun website, but once I saw the terms of the actual contract, which is not made available until you get to near the final step, I realized that the guaranteed generation charge is actually 30% higher than what I pay. No big deal, it's easy to not agree to stuff and I've checked out other services and declined them in the past. Well, neighborhood sun has now started to send me 3+ emails a day, attempting to harass me into signing up. When those went unread, I received a "personal" email from someone called Sam Knight. When I responded that I'm receiving far too many emails, Sam Knight naturally stopped contacti....oh no, that's right, Sam Knight decided to call me at 8:45am and then text me, then continue to text me even after I advised I'd be reporting them to the Maryland Public Service Commission. It seems to get them to stop contacting you by text you have to explicitly say "Stop contacting me" Nobody knows how to get them to stop contacting you by email.

A few hours ago, I reported Neighborhood Sun to PSEG for dishonest and deceptive advertising. This is a shady company. They advertise their partnership with PSEG and specifically noted PSEG remains your company. You pay one bill to PSEG and you save up to 20% via a credit to your PSEG account. My wife and I agree this is a no-brainer. Well were we wrong. You would have to have no brains to do business with this company, Neighborhood Sun. My first attempt to sign up was horrible. Nice looking website, but functionally and poorly operational. When I was able to reach customer service, customer service was minimally helpful. Once I was able to finish the sign up, I was struck with a serious problem. They required all my bank information, including routing number and my account number. It took me one to two seconds to realize this didn't look or small right. This transaction was over. I ran as fast as I could. I am hoping PSEG disassociates from this questionable company. Very concerning. I would never do business with Neighborhood Sun.

I have a ~4000 sf 1901 Victorian home with many gables that preclude placement of panels on roof. I therefore subscribe to get all my electric needs via a subscription from Neighborhood Sun’s Community Solar arrangement. I have been using their services for over 14 months and have saved over $2,000 so far with no out of pocket cost to me. I pay Potomac Edison /FirstEnergy $6.02 per month for their services and the rest is billed via Neighborhood Sun at a great discount off what Potomac Edison rate. No other fees or charges.

We are consistently being charged more on a monthly basis, than our BGE electricity charges. Our bill last month with BGE was $155. Our bill from Neighborhood Sun this month was $220 - 10%, for a total of $198! One month they tried to charge us over $400, and proceeded to set up a payment plan!!! I complained and was told it was our responsibility. Then, a month later, someone else complained and they admitted to a glitch with the reporting from BGE! No consistency. And there doesn’t seem to be anybody there that knows what’s going on. We canceled our contract, but are still on the hook with paying their high charges until the cancellation processes in about 2 months. We’re being ripped off with this and are at their mercy! Stay away!!!
