My problem involves a recent vehicle purchase from Unlimited Auto on September 28,2023. Within a week of acquiring a 2013 ** ***** Hybrid from this dealership, the check engine light came on. Subsequently, we returned the vehicle to the dealership, and it was kept for an overnight inspection. To our dismay, the car broke down completely the very next day, necessitating a tow to our trusted mechanic.************'s assessment indicated a significant issue with the transmission, which required replacement. In an effort to address the situation, we engaged in discussions with ****, a representative of Unlimited Auto. **** suggested the possibility of accepting a replacement vehicle of lesser value, but we are uncertain if this is a fair solution given the circumstances. As the vehicle was purchased for our daughter as her first car, and she had invested her savings into it, this unexpected breakdown has placed us in a challenging situation. We took additional steps by filing complaints with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to seek regulatory intervention. We also sought legal advice and consulted with Trooper ****** to understand our rights and available options. Consequently, we are now reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to help facilitate a fair and satisfactory resolution to this situation. We formally request Unlimited Auto to consider either an even swap for a replacement vehicle in good working order or a full refund of the money spent on the 2013 ** ***** Hybrid. We hope that the Better Business Bureau can assist us in engaging Unlimited Auto in a constructive dialogue to reach an acceptable resolution. We seek to resolve this matter amicably, avoiding the need for further legal action or regulatory involvement. If you require any additional information or documentation to support our case, please do not hesitate to request it. We appreciate your assistance in achieving a just resolution

Went online saw **** ******** **** at Unlimited Auto. Notified them. Did online application. Was then notified by dealership that the process is to get approved for lending. Any deposit given belong to dealership whether you are approved or not( $1000 is required deposit). Got a approved thru ******************** Went to dealership to finally see car in person, car was not there. The dealership had car at inspection station. Car purchased july 6th, 2023. I didn't get to physically see car till July 11th, 2023. Once I saw car physically lots of things were inoperable. The sunroof doesn't work. The entertainment center which has tv's doesn't work. There was an open recall on it since March 2022. The key was broken, it had tape holding it together. I talked with dealership about these things, before I drove it off the lot. They became argumentive, and told me it's my problem now. They wouldn't answer my calls. I talked to ********, they told me it's my problem. I want these things fixed. I feel I was scammed.

****** we're never pleased when a customer is not satisfied because Customer satisfaction is our primary goal. We had the vehicle MD safety inspected on July 10, 2023. You paid the $1000 down payment as required by ******** as part of your approval for the vehicle you chose. We had you approved "before" you made your down payment.  On 07/10/2023 you signed a "Notice of Implied Warranty" accepting the vehicle "As Is" and were also offered to purchase an extended warranty for further mechanical protection if necessary. Mechanically, we ensured the vehicle passed all requirements of the state. Unfortunately when a vehicle is 16 years old, there are bound to be things that are in need of repair. You signed all documents taking possession of the vehicle on July 10 2023 and acknowledged the vehicle was to your satisfaction and the purchase was complete. We would never ignore any customers, you're always welcome to call or come into the dealership for assistance. We are sorry that you aren't satisfied but we would be more happy to take a look at the issues with your car and we can discuss assisting you further. We hope to hear from you soon.

I purchased a 2012 *** ****** from Unlimited Auto Sales on 4/4/23 for $9,103.94 after I was told that it passed inspection. I drove the car home (2 miles). I moved the car from my house for the first time on 4/8/23. I drove 14 miles to a meeting and on my way back home, when I was up the street from my house, a hybrid warning light came on instructing me to safely pull over and stop driving, accompanied by a loud grinding. I called Unlimited Auto Sales, explained what happened and told them I was having the car towed to the *** dealership.  I was told to let them know what the issue is and they will fix it. I had the car towed to *** on 4/12/23-first available appt. On the evening of 4/18/23, *** informed me that the hydraulic brake booster needed to be replaced and that it would cost $4,600. On 4/19/23, I met with ****, the manager at Unlimited Auto Sales and asked for a full refund because a car that I purchased just days before and drove ONE TIME should not be inoperable. **** refused and stated that they have a no refund policy. He then found a used part on **** and offered to pay half the cost for the part and not charge labor. I was instructed by an employee to have the car towed to their service lot a few doors down. On 4/19/23, I had the car towed to their service lot and showed an employee of Unlimited Auto Sales where the car was. I gave him the paperwork from *** and explained that **** said that he would order the part, pay half, and fix the car. I had not heard anything back as of today 4/29/23 so I called. I was told by **** that I was supposed to order the part and that he never agreed to pay half. That is NOT what was communicated to me. I should be entitled to a full refund in light of these circumstances and the fact that the car is inoperable after only driving it one time. I will also be pursuing this matter legally, as these are fraudulent, deceptive business practices - selling vehicles with major issues with no disclosure.

I bought a car in April with extended warranty. I was suppose to receive $189 back for tags I ended up getting on my own for the vehicle and have yet to receive. The car now has a transmission issue. If we just bought the car in April how is it that it passed md inspection, so they say. Transmission issues doesn't happen over night. They sold me a car that should not have passed inspection. Too me any issues with it now. I have the car at place to get fix through the warranty and the warranty company says they never contacted them about activating the policy. I have been trying to get the someone a rude woman at unlimited motors to fix the issue and give me my $189. And it's not being done. I will admit that I called so much I got upset towards the end and yelled at her out of frustration.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/15/2022

what she failed to mention is that she purchased the vehicle AS IS and purchased a extended warranty from ***. She couldn't receive tags because of a error on her part with MVA so she had to get them herself and a check was mailed out to her and when she called we told her we would have to cancelled the other check and get her a new one she has yet to come by to get the check! And a passed inspection on 04/09/2022 with the certification number ********. a transmission issue in 8 months is highly possible if a person does not do proper maintaining of a vehicle so we will not be fixing her vehicle but, she can come by and get the check anytime!
