Murphys plumbing was called on September 9 th for a well pump and tank issue. He sent a tech out to assess the problem.he told us what needed to be done and the amount it would cost .we had to pay up front through pay pal.His tech was to come out Tuesday. He said he didnt receive the equipment from warehouse.the equipment is from **********. He did come out on the 13 th and replaced the tank and pump. He was not getting the proper water pressure so he didnt complete on Friday and he was to return Monday. He didnt return Monday and he said a tech would be out Tuesday between 10:30 and 11:30. I called him at 12:30 and he wouldnt answer my call or text. I had to call another plumber on 9/17/2024 to complete the service and get us running water.Initial Complaint

I reached out to Murphy plumbing on 8/21 to get a new hot water heater. He texted back on 8/22. I asked if he did same day installation and he said yes. We set up a time on 8/23. He was running late so I texted to check and Murphy said that the tech was on his way. The tech ( Murphy) showed up turned off the gas to the water heater and then said he was going out to look at what he could get. Murphy texted me back within an hour saying it could be ordered for ***** and installed on Monday 8/26. He asked for the money via check cash app or Venmo. I decided to pay via check and he came back to collect the deposit, stating he would be back Monday between 2 and 3pm. I had a family member wait at the house to let him in on Monday. He never showed up. I called and texted around 4pm and he said the tech was finishing a job, going to get the water heater, and then he would be on his way over. I got home at 6pm and he still didn't show up, so I texted and called again. I got no response. I called on Tuesday 8/27 asking to reschedule, and he never called back so I sent a text. Still no response. I called and texted Wednesday 8/28, this time simply asking for a refund. No response. On Thursday I texted again telling him that if I did not hear by Sunday 9/1 I would contact the BBB. He still has not responded to any of my attempts to reach him. I had to hire someone else to do the water heater and still do not have the money back from Murphy.Initial Complaint

Had him come out a year ago to put in a sump pump. Was a veteran owned company, that is why I chose him. Did a great job. So when I had a recent issue come up, he was the first ****** I called. It was just a simple sink job. He came out looked at it. He gave me an estimate a day or so later. Asked for payment out front and he would get to it at the end of the week. I didnt want to at first, but I figured he did a good job last time, I could trust him. Well I was wrong. Been over a month and all I got was excuses, reschedules and no shows. Now I am getting no response from phone calls and texts that I am sending. Do not use this plumber. I wish I would have looked him up before calling him this time, I would have seen all the other reviewsCustomer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. When I do hear from him. He sets a date to come out and do the work, then never shows nor calls to tells us he isnt coming. This has happened on 4 different occasions.Initial Complaint

We called **** Murphy Plumbing for three plumbing jobs and had good results. On the fourth job we were ghosted. Prepaid $1701 for shower faucets, stems, and a new toilet and installation was never completed. Very disappointed that phone calls, texts, and emails were never returned. Disappointing because we wanted very much to support a veteran owned business. Regretfully this is not a reputable business and makes plumbing services in ******-******** look bad.Customer Answer

I received an estimate for $4,800 to rough in a new bathroom. I told **** that I wanted it permitted. I paid a $2,400 deposit.After weeks of trying to obtain Seans license information and schedule service, I learned **** does not have a valid license and has never held a ******************** license in *****. After learning **** is not licensed to perform the work that I paid him to do and that the work must be done by a master plumber to be permitted, I demanded that my deposit be returned because he cannot legally do the work for which I paid him a deposit to complete.Customer Answer

I hired **** Murphy of Murphy Plumbing company in June 2022. He was to install plumbing for a laundry room and half bath. Then in July he was to renovate an existing bathroom. He stopped by my residence once, asked for a down payment, and would call me with an available date to complete the projects. During the month of July I began texting and calling him with no reply. I did manage to get in touch with his employee who in turn talked with **** Murphy about returning my calls. Since July I have been calling and texting daily with no response. In October I called and texted **** Murphy telling him to return my down payments totally $6566.50 . I texted him my address on October 19th ************ case. Sent texts daily to let him know I had not received a check. His employee, ***************** texted me on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, wondering when he could come by to begin the projects. I told him all about **** Murphy. ***************** stated that he had no idea all this was going on. Shortly after, **** Murphy did call saying he sent me a check, which I did not receive. He then said he would personally drop the check off to me. Sent texts daily to let him know I had not received a check. On Tuesday November 8, 2022 I texted and called him stating that I would be reporting him to the ************** and the BBB with the probability of hiring an attorney. It is now Wednesday November 9, 2022 and I have had no response from **** Murphy.I do not want to have to take him to court. I would like my down payments returned to **** hope you can help me. The owner of Murphy Plumbing has contacted me and says he will return *********** via US mail. I am not confident in his response as he has texted me stating, "the check is in the mail". If I do not receive the check this week I will be taking further action by contacting the **************. My last resort is to hire a lawyer.
