VIP wanted $159. To diagnose a fuel line leak. Took it to another shop and got the complete repair for $100.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, **** Were sorry to hear things didnt go as expected during your visit, and we completely understand how frustrating that can be.
When you came in on April 1st, our team member **** explained our standard $159 diagnostic fee, but also let you know that if the issue was clearly visible and didnt require diagnostic time, we wouldnt charge for it. You agreed to those terms, but understandably had to leave shortly after, before we were able to begin the inspection.

We respect your time and want to make sure we follow up properly. Our Market Manager, ****** ******, will be reaching out to you directly to discuss the situation and see how we can help from here. We appreciate your feedbackit helps us continue to improve the experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

Do not go to VIP Tires and Service ********* MA *****. We picked up our vehicle from VIP after it was services for front wheel bearings, bearing hub, and front steering knuckles. My son drove the car home. I tested the car and realized that the noise issue was still present, and the steering wheel was misaligned. I removed the tire, brake calipers, and rotors to see the new replacement parts. I was shocked because there were no new parts. It was original ***** parts and there was no sign of the work being done. I am getting charged $549 for Parts and $572 for Labor for a total of over $1100. I brought the car back to VIP and I was informed that they use used parts on my car. VIP never ask me or make me aware that the used parts were used on my car. I was blown away! The noise issue is still present, the used parts were used on my car, and I was not informed of it. I am getting charged for over $1100. Never Ever Going There Again! Beware!!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Were genuinely sorry that our team didnt discuss the option of sourcing used parts more thoroughly, and we understand how important it is to have full transparency on any work done to your vehicle.

To address your concerns, we did offer a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill, but we understand that this was declined. Additionally, we recommended a diagnostic to identify the root of the road noise issue, which was also declined at the time. Following a test drive and further inspection, our team determined that the sounds youre hearing are likely originating from the transmission, rather than the wheel bearings.

We value your feedback and always strive for clear communication. If theres anything further we can do to address your concerns, please dont hesitate to reach out to **************************************** Thank you again for helping us improve our service.

Don't apologize to me. Do your job right if you are charging customers for your ***********************. First, you lied to me and then you offer some refund for your incompetent. I don't need it because I will never step foot in VIP in ******** again and the same for the people in my neighborhood. I made sure they are aware of how VIP operate, cheating and stealing from theirs customers. And train the manager to not yell at customer and get into a customer face when a customer disagreed with him.

I can't recommend VIP in ******. They released my car to me when it still had issues. I ended up trashing the engine on the 4th day I had it back. Now they won't work with me, and accept any blame. Typical. Find a good local mechanic.

      ****,

We are disappointed that our solutions and offers to work with you are unacceptable. We have been trying to speak with you directly, but you refuse to take our phone calls or visit the shop so we can go over the vehicle in person. Your wife has been amicable and pleasant to speak with and understanding of the situation and choices that led to making this situation worse. We want to reiterate that we are committed to resolving this issue.

It's important to note that the cooler hose for the turbo is on the bottom of the engine and not where our technicians had been working. When the vehicle was returned to you after service, there were no leaks found. When the oil pressure warning light came on, you should have called us immediately. When your wife called our shop, she said you would be having the vehicle towed to our location. Your choice not to have the vehicle towed has resulted in the current condition of the engine. Our work did not result in this issue. We do not accept responsibility for the choices made after the vehicle left our facility.

We have given you options to warranty labor to help you with the cost. We have given you quotes associated with replacement of the engine. We cannot accept the option to take the vehicle after we have fixed it and have you 'make payments' on the costs of that work, we apologize, but that is not fiscally responsible or an option that our shops have to finance the costs of repairs for customers.

We have been open, honest, and willing to look over your vehicle with you. We have attempted to speak to you, but have been speaking through your wife who is doing her best to relay all the information given to her. We are here to help and have given options and costs to make this situation better.

We understand that this is a tough situation for you. However, it's important to clarify that the engine failure is not a reflection of the work and labor performed by VIP. Unfortunately, it was the decision to drive the vehicle after the warning light came on that resulted in this outcome.

We remain committed to being available to work with you. You only have to reach out, accept our call, or stop by the shop to begin that process. Thank you for understanding.

Beware of this company! I was in the Brookline MA location in December 2023 and experienced abysmal customer service (keeping my car an entire day even though the only repair needed was a 20-minute job and not even looking at my car until a few hours after drop-off even though I had made an appointment), deceptive/scamming behavior (recommending imminent replacement of a part that other mechanics discovered a few days later was in perfect condition), and significant overcharging (both with the one repair that I did have done, as well as with an estimate for a front brakes job that was twice what I ultimately paid a competitor [an actual difference of close to $500]). A simple review of VIP's record with the BBB and other consumer review sites shows that these problems are systemic.

Ms. ** In response to the pricing issue on brakes, brake fluid service, brake adjustment, and cooling system service are all recommendations but are not required. *hen comparing like items to like items - the quote was within $40 difference of a competitor. *e respect Ms. ******* opinion and feedback but kindly disagree with her accusation that our shop participates in or is somehow running a repair scam. All prices were clearly displayed and apparent on the work order. *e do not believe that, based on the opinion of a biased third party, our business should refund payment for services rendered. Our teams' expertise, experience, parts, and labor warranty, and service warrant the price we have set out. *e have exhausted all options for working with Ms. * as she does not want to work with us. *e wish her the best. Thank you.

In May 2024 I took my car in for inspection at the *********** ***** location and then was told I needed over $1300 in repairs to pass. I knew that couldn't be right, so I took my car to another shop for inspection and passed. I told the shop what you said was wrong and they showed me that you lied and everything was good. I don't appreciate being lied to just to make money off me. I am not the only person you pulled this stunt on. I am not stupid! I will NEVER come here again or even recommend this place. Don't give me the talk about we are only concerned with safety because the other shop did as well. VIP is just money hungry!! Would love to give negative stars bcause you don't even deserve the 1 star.

Unfortunately, I am unable to give them negative stars. When I arrived to drop off my vehicle after being ignored for several minutes, I was finally acknowledged by the shifty looking character behind the desk. He immediately asked me if the vehicle had a check engine light and was clearly annoyed when I told him it didn't. I explained to him that the oil pressure Guage would randomly drop, showing no pressure. If I stopped and turned the vehicle off and waited a few minutes, the pressure would be fine until the next time it randomly happened. After two days, I got a call from them, hoping they were able to fix the issue. Instead, I was told it would need a new motor, and they didn't think I would want to do that because it was older. When I asked what was causing the oil pressure to drop, I was told the tech didn't want to get into it because it was older and had a lot of rust. The vehicle spent almost its whole life in *******, so it has very minimal rust. So, given no other option but to replace the motor, something I was told they don't do, I went to pick up my vehicle. When I arrived to get my keys, I was charged $169 for the nothing they had done. Not wanting to junk or sell it for pennies on the dollar based on what VIP had told me, I decided to bring it to another local shop. After a day, they called and said it was done. They replaced the oil pressure switch, and it only costs a few dollars more than VIP charged me to almost cost me thousands of dollars had I junked or sold a perfectly good vehicle. I called their corporate office to let them know the terrible service I had received. A few days later, I got a call from the store manager, not anyone in corporate. Who grudgingly issued me a refund but offered no apology and did not seem to feel his staff needed better training or had done anythingwrong. I would avoid this and all VIP locations at all costs. They clearly do not care at all about the work they do or customers they are supposed to service.

My daughter was in the VIP Seabrook store on Saturday, 3/30 for an oil change and tire rotation. After the service, per thier usual, the salesperson tried to upsell new tires to my daughter. In fact, she said that they would not rotate the tires due to extreme wear. The person checking my daughter out proceeded to tell my 18 yo daughter that her tires were so bald that she is at risk of blowing out a tire, rolling over her car and possibly dying. I want to add that my 13 yo niece was also there. My daughter was in a horrible accident not even 6 months ago (not her fault) where her car was totaled and she needed emergency medical care. She still has PTSD when driving. To make matters worse, my niece was also in a horrific crash back in 2016 where her mom was killed. I understand that it is company policy to upsell, but there is no excuse for scare tactics. This is completely unprofessional and has crossed the line. The salesperson also told my daughter to bat her beautiful eyes at mommy and daddy to get them to buy her new tires. BTW, her tread is still good, confirmed by another mechanic. She still has close to a year left on the tires. This type of scare tactic should never be used to try to sell someone a product they do not need. I would select 0 stars if it were possible

*****, we appreciate your feedback and understand that there has been some miscommunication here, and we look forward to having an opportunity to clarify and ultimately make this right. At VIP, we have a policy against upselling, and we only make recommendations based on the vehicle's safety and the manufacturer's recommendations. In this instance, our team considered the condition of your daughter's tires to be a safety issue due to being worn down to the wear bar on the tires and effectively being bald. Without adequate tread, there is an increased risk of sliding or hydroplaning, and being bald means it can be more easily punctured by debris or potholes. We would be happy to review these findings and our suggestions together in person at our location or at a neutral garage of your choosing. I sincerely apologize that the seriousness of the issue was seen through the lens of your daughter's trauma, and I certainly feel for her and her anxiety when it comes to driving. Our team only wants to ensure ***********, and our staff's conversations with her focus on that. We certainly do not use scare tactics and work hard to be professional, reliable, and transparent in everything we do. Our technicians even offered to bring your daughter out to the bay to show her the condition in person, but she declined. We are happy to go over that with you in person and with a representative of your choosing if you feel it is necessary. We are more than happy to discuss with you and receive feedback on better ways to communicate. Still, there has been some miscommunication in what was communicated during your daughter's visit. Please reach out to *************************************** to schedule a time to discuss or reach out to the store directly - they are more than happy to assist. Thank you.

Everyone working at the shop was very nice. However, I feel their prices are not fair and I would avoid taking my car to this place for repair unless money is not a problem for you. I feel kinda ripped off with what they are charging me. I chose this place because of the good reviews but now checking more carefully I see most reviews are for tires not for other services. This is my bill:Diagnostics- 173$Serpentine Belt Replacement- $244.85$Serpentine Belt Tensioner - 630.64$Shop fee - 65$Taxes- 24.44$Total : 1,138.02$Also a battery replacement cost 249.99$A simple search online shows that their prices are way higher than the higher estimate online.Diagnostics- $40 to $200 Serpentine Belt Replacement- $113 to $139.Serpentine Belt Tensioner - $255 to $296.So yes, their prices are not good. I wish I had taken my car somewhere else, it would have saved a lot of money.

On 1/17/2024 I brought my vehicle to VIP on *************** in ***********, ** to have a tire repaired, they asked me to leave to vehicle, and they would call me when it was done. About an hour or so after dropping it off I received a call stating that my tire was not repairable, that the inside of the tire was completely cracked, and I would need to purchase 4 BRAND NEW TIRES because my spare was still covered in holiday decorations. I asked if they could just put the spare on it I received a sigh and was informed the tire would be switched over soon. Upon arriving to pick up my vehicle, I had a blank rim sitting on the back of my jeep, and my spare had been put on the passenger front of my vehicle as opposed to the damaged tire (passenger rear). I walked in and was given a bill of 29.00$ for "time to remove ******* from spare tire" which I paid and left with my vehicle, I called a local shop which had the tire I currently have on my jeep and got in first thing this morning (1/18/2024). They quickly got to work, and the owner of the shop and I chatted about the charge, before a tire technician came in to inform us, he got the tire on BUT there was an issue with one of the studs on my FRONT TIRE. V.I.P damaged the studs and stripped the lug nut on my spacer (I have 2-inch wheel spacers on the vehicle) and DID NOT INFORM ME OF SAID DAMAGE! When I called them to try to rectify the situation I was told "They didn't put it in the notes and the guy who worked on my vehicle claimed the spacer was damaged when I brought the vehicle in. I was already out the door by the time the guy came out to be able to tell me." They told me they were going to do nothing to rectify the situation, but I feel this is completely ridiculous as my wheel spacer was JUST FINE when I brought it in. (Jeep had been fully inspected one month ago and I even had my mechanic check them to ensure they were okay)
