I received a quote for paving project the 1st of May and paid a $1500.00 deposit to the contractor Gerard Ashpalt, the agreement did not state that the deposit was not refundable. On May 25th I sent an email asking for an update as I had not heard from the Contractor, no repsonse so I sent another email on June 3rd and the contractor finally responded on June 7th and said that he was scheduled to do my project on Saturday June 18th. I waited all ***** the 18th and no one showed up and did not receive any call to advise they were not coming. I emailed the Contractor that night and he said they got tied up and had no cell service to call me. He said in his response that he would deliver material to my house on June 19th or June 20th and that he would get my project done at some point that week. Asked for the contractor to provide advanced notice and had not heard anything back. The contractor did not delivery any material on the 19th or 20th so on Thursday night of that week I emailed and said I no longer wanted the contractor to do the project as they did not meet any of the prior commitments and requested they return my deposit. He refused to return my deposit. I posted a ****** review that said " No Show, no call on schedule date, said he would delivery material and did not on the days he said he would. Lack of communication and had to send multiple emails to get a response requesting updates on the project. will not return deposit for his lack of doing what he said he would". I got a threatening email from contractor telling me that he was going to *** me for defamation of my review and said it was going to cost me much more that the $1500.00. My review is factual and my rights for freedom of speech.
