Aug 19,2023 I needed to use my roadside assistance After which I was notified by someone named ****** who said he was with Dispatch and that he had my towing set up. If would be about 2 hours before it was towed and my out of pocket would be ****, he repented it just like that **** about 4 times a long with his name should I have any issues. About 30 minutes later I received a call from the tow company driver, to verify location of my vehicle and the address I needed it towed to. ,He asked be about my out of pocket portion and I stated I could give him a debit card now, he said he couldn't process a debit. So I said I would mail him the $2 If he would just leave the bill in my truck. He said don't worry about it we can work it out later. At 10PM Saturday night I get a call from the driver stating he needed payment for my portion of the bill and could except a debit card now. I replied ok if your that concerned over your $2, he said WHAT NO ITS $183!!!! I told him no I was told **** repeated and even when I spoke with him earlier had referred to the $2 charge. NOT a $200 charge. He would have to eat it that was why he didn't like working where he was. 10:30PM I received another call, this man identified himself as **** with Marks Towing and that I needed to pay him the $183 or he would call the state police on me. I refused as I had never agreed to pay anyone that price for an INSURANCE COVERED ASSISTANCE before. He said well I drove all the way from Caribou to Houlton to get your car and take it to ******, then had to drive back to Caribou so you owe me. I insisted I had never agreed to such nonsense and why would my insurance company use someone from Caribou when there are several towing companies in both Houlton and ******. He said I could explain it to the state police when they showed up. I was then approached by my Post Master stating **** had called her to make a complaint about me with the *********** as I was an employee of theirs and that she needed to know that I was dishonest and a bad representative of the *********** because I was refusing to honor a contract with him.

On August 19, 2023 we took a dispatch from a roadside assistance provider "*******************:"  for a ******* to ******, which is a distance tow but is not unusual at all where we are one of the only contracted providers. The customer calls her insurance company for a tow which then hands it off to NSD which then hands it off to us. My driver ****** which is also the owner doesnt have the access to take a card on the road, thats when he called her when he was back to the office and she refused payment. I " *********************" did call her after to see what the issue was, as i did state i was going to have her charged with theft of services which is very acceptable under the ***** law. We work with the post offices close so my father reached out of the post master only because he did not want any complication with her and her job if she had been served papers for this refusal of payment, Here is a copy of the work order that NSD who instructed us to tow the vehicle. ***** left hand corner it states what the customer is responsible for at time of **********************.

I find the response from Marks Towing to be untruthful. First I would like to acknowledge that the invoice he provided I had never even seen prior to him submitting it to you. Secondly a person Named **** did speak with *************** Master And she stated and I quote" you should know the type of person that represents you and the Postal Service, that she is dishonest and refuses to pay the charge owed. Is this how you want the *********** to be presented?" I also spoke with the garage owner and she stated " I have seen this tow company pull this scam on others who uses them, they like to bully people into paying extra because they are out of Caribou". The Owner stated to me when he called me that "I owed the $183 because he had to drive from Caribou to ******* then from ****** back to Caribou but the insurance company only paid him for the tow which was from Houlton to ******, so he wanted the rest from me." When I told him" I hadn't hired him and didn't understand why they hired someone from ******* he said he didn't care he just wanted his money." At that point I told.him he needed to take up payment dispute with who hired him,  Concord Insurance.

again very inaccurate information.my father "****" had a conversation with a post master of a completely different town regarding what would happen if he wanted to have her served and charged, not wanting to see her lose her job we would of not went forward. that post master Named ************************* then had reached out to ******************* boss to mention what was going on. my father ************ myself had made direct contact with her boss. Back to her first statement claiming my driver " said we would have to eat the call if she didn't pay, thats why he doesnt like working here"  is also very invalid, since the driver is also the company owner. I ********************* only made contact with ***************** the night of the service call.

      FAQ

      Regards,

      *****

I have attached the screenshots of the notes I have taken as this situation has progressed. I will only add I received a voicemail from ****'s Towing on 9/6 it stated he wanted to see what arrangements we could make before he pressed charges. I was still at work and didn't respond. Besides I would rather those arrangements be made through this avenue. Thank you
