Wildfires across the Los Angeles area are expected to become the costliest such disaster in U.S. history. As victims cope with the aftermath, it is crucial to stay vigilant against opportunistic scammers. Date of Request and Deposit: 3/1/24 Total Amount Paid: $1450 Committment: A "custom made" live-edge "slab" dining table with metal legs and a matching "slab" bench with matching legs. Disbute: The table is not custom made, it is machine made, it is not a "slab", it is made up of 10 boards sandwiched together and impeccably finished on top and bottom...not attainable by a "beginner *********" that this person claimed to be. As a matter of fact, on their Insta videos you can see that they do not use biscuits nor pocket hole screws; they use brackets and wooden braces on the bottom of the other tables that they make. Additionally, the legs of the table, the table finish and material do not match the bench what so ever...of which I later was told that the bench was sourced by someone else...but they did not tell me that this was going to happen. Essentially, this table likely came from a place like Wayfair, even though I was hoping/wanting to have a custom product made by a local woman. The seller did not make or finish either item and the legs do not match. Now, I did take the product home, but did not notice discrepancies until I was loading the item into my trailer and the person had left. I did not inspect the item when I got there because we chatted about carpentry and her process and she showed us one other product she was working on. And I assumed the best. Upon loading the product and transporting I began realizing that I did not get what I requested, what was committed, and what was paid for. I had a seasoned fine woodworker friend check out the table and they too stated that the table was "machine made". Resolution attempt: I reached out to express these concerns via ******** Messenger and the response that I got was "why did i take the product home" and "the website explicitly says no refunds/no returns." This is all that they offered. Then when I wrote back and lo and behold their FB was down. I then reached out to the email address and they told me their child shutdown their FB and that they would be moving to ** soon (?). I explained the discrepancies further and asked for a partial refund or to return the product to which they denied. The said they do not allow refunds or returns and continued to claim that the table was custom made. The seller would not budge nor work with me on a resolution. They told me they were a beginner and a mother of three. They are dishonest, misleading, unethical, and shady in their language. Unethical business in my opinion. Tracking: Venmo transactions and Messenger messages Advertising: ********, Instagram, and Etsy (which no longer exists and is the only platform that has reviews)

    Hello,

I sell my custom tables and other furniture online. My items have detailed photos and videos for many. The customer choose a live edge table that was listed as an example on my marketplace. Price was agreed upon. Customer showed up and spent ***** min talking and looking at the table and bench. Not one complaint was made. My policy that is stated on my website is if you leave no refunds since a lot of people try and get things for free. The customer reached out afterwards complaining only about bench legs. I offered for her to bring it back and I would refund even though that's not my policy. She then complained about the table. The items are not from Wayfair or a store and I find that insulting. The slab comes from a local company that I sand and stain and the legs are also from a local company. Then I make the table and assemble. A refund isn't an option at this point especially after the threats I was given and inappropriate language.

Also, my personal business about where I travel or moving is my business and I don't need to give that info at this time.

    Thank you
