I have known and used Lamson Funeral home since they bought it from The prior owners and they always treated my family great. I was friendly with them on ******** and when we saw each other around. Always good service. When someone does ****** good things and then one bad. People forget the good in people and suddenly remember the one bad. Covid then hard times that followed folks did things to survive. I still will back and stand by Chip and the Lamsons

I would leave 0 stars if I could. My girlfriend and I went to there ************** a day after her dad passed away and she paid close to 6500 for death certificates, remembrance jewelry, urn , cremation, funeral services and that was 3 months ago. They have had 0 communication with her after many emails, she needed him to confirm the funeral date so she could write the obituary for her dad and mother who had just passed months before that. He would not email her back. We drove a hour and half to his office and he was only there at that time to collect money from another woman. My girlfriend said if I will send you the obituary this week and please run it Friday and Saturday and he said yes. Well it's Saturday and it was not run. She contacted the paper Friday and they said they have not got anything from the funeral home. We now have to do it ourselves and pay for it again after we paid him. They have caused more pain and suffering during the worst time of her life. These guys should not be in business, the office looked like a tornado went through there as they had mail stacked on the desk from December and January, almost as nobody has even been there for months. We now have to legal action and contact the maine state funeral board and file a complaint, stay away from this place please. They are so inconsiderate and this is people's hardest times of there lives and they have caused more pain , they were paid to do a job and have failed us in so many ways. Worst experience of our lives.

Numerous attempts were made to contact Lamson Funeral Home by phone, email, and certified letter requesting a refund for five deaths certificates that were not received, as well as cost of stone engraving that was never forwarded to the engraving company. My daughter personally spoke with an employee inquiring about the death certificates and requested a refund with no response. To this date, I haven't received a response to my certified letter from Lamson Funeral Home. The lack of communication is extremely disappointing given the fact that his website states that, "Losing a loved one is never easy. When people experience loss, they need a strong support network to provide comfort and offer encouragement. We are here to support you through this difficult time." It is most unfortunate that the website description does not reflect the service that I received. I would also note that I contacted the engraving company used by Lamson Funeral Home and discovered my husband's information was forwarded without the pre-paid funds, therefore, he was not on the list to have his date of death engraved on the stone. In an effort to make sure the engraving is done in a timely manner, I paid the engraving company to have my husband's stone engraved. In my certified letter, I requested a refund of $39 for the death certificates and $325 for the engraving. Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism from Lamson Funeral Home. I would also note the office space where we signed paperwork was very unclean. If it were possible, I would've left zero stars.
