We hired Purvis to replace some rot and our back deck at our home along with doing some roofing repairs at another property we own nearby. We have a written and signed contract dated February 24, 2024. The crew started the work but has not finished. The owners son who came back to pick up their equipment told us that he would only come back and finish if we paid him more money. He became angry, yelling and swearing, when we said no and requested that he just finish the work described in the contract. Work we had already paid for to be completed. he said he would rather risk getting in trouble than finishing the work because they would loose money. So we are currently left with a deck where the deck boards are not complete leaving an opening in the corner section. The railings are only partially up and after closer inspection the part that is complete was done with metal roofing not just with Azak as we had planned. They are also done inconsistently meaning one side of the rail is different than the other. The sides of This 2nd story deck are left open. We also have pieces of siding that havent been put back up as well as gutters and the roofing that was under our deck to cover a patio below all still not put back up. Even though it expressly describes in the contract in the work to be done that they will take down the roofing and put it back up when the decking is completed. Some of The insulation and insulation panels that they took down from underneath the deck that are suppose to be put back up are also missing and left open and exposed. One of the footings they poured is already cracked and another footing was put in upside down with the more narrow side down and the wide top up holding the support post. The roofing repairs are still not completed at our location. It has been over month since they were last here. We have called the owner and his son numerous times. They have stopped responding. We dont know what to do. The deck currently is a hazard.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. The project remains unfinished and currently unsafe. No one has reached out to me or tried to complete the work or tried to address my complaint and concerns in any manner. This business is unscrupulous and we will likely be forced to go to court to resolve this. We had hoped that with your assistance they would at least try to communicate with us and honor the signed contract we had and complete the work we have already paid for but that has not happened.

Hello. I have had two roofs worked on by Purvis Roofing/Purvis Home Improvement (same company). I have paid in total in 2022 almost $40,000 for work rendered. We recently had this company, who also completely re-roofed our house at ********* in May 2022 (we have a 50 yr workmanship warranty with Purvis on this roof), do an initial roof repair at our rental property at *********************** in ****** ** in September. Tenants had let ** know water was coming in and wetting dry wall in bathroom after heavy windy rain storm. Prior to the repair, we had asked the owner ***** Purvis' supervisor who came to give estimate (*******) if he thought repair would be valid or if we should consider completely re-roofing the 2nd floor roof where rain water came in from. We were informed a repair would be sufficient, and were given a price of $3,300 to patch a few spots, fix some siding and flashing. Work was completed 9/2/22, check for full amount was also provided to ******* after meeting him at the property to confirm work complete. **** returned 9/22/22 (repair did not correct), so we were then advised to do a new roof and were charged $7,200. This was completed by another supervisor on the team (*****) on 10/3/22, including removal of non-functional chimney on that roof that they believed was causing a leak in conjunction with close proximity of stink pipe. I met ***** at property same day, and was informed a new boot had been placed on the stink pipe along with complete re-roof to prevent any future leaks. The leak had damaged bathroom in upstairs unit, and insurance company mandated we replace the roof 10/3/22 to ensure contractors could re-sheetrock and correct damaged bathroom. Contractors from another finishing company came 10/13/22, and informed us 10/14/22 that a leak was still present which caused them to cease work, and charged us for the lost day. We informed *****, and he sent ***** that weekend, who sent us photos of the incorrectly sealed boot on stink pipe.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. The tenants in the upstairs unit have also given their notice due to everything that has been caused by the roofing company and I am now looking at lost wages due to his teams mistake.
