In August of 2021, Kenneth *** Construction completed a new layer of shingles for me for $10,970.00. In the next rain storm my roof (which as never leaked prior) leaked into my house causing substantial damage to the interior. I filed with my insurance company who then came and inspected the roof. The inspection determined the interior water damage was the result of fault workmanship/improper installation of the roof shingles. I called *** who then offered to come fix the leak, however I asked him to wait until the final write up from my insurance company. Upon receiving the information, the insurance company told me the roof was so bad I would need an entire new roof. *** stated that this was because the insurance inspector didn't know what he was talking about. I then had two more roofing companies look at my roof. One roofer said it was "the worst roofing job he had ever seen" and both roofers stated that the entire roof need to be replaced. I then asked *** to replace the entire roof, including stripping both layers. He agreed only if I paid for the extra labor, which I refused, due to the terrible job that had been done in the first place. After multiple, long texts from him he told me to get a lawyer and then continued to text that I had no grounds and then told me to file a claim with his insurance. At one point the texts became borderline harassment, which I stated. I then asked for his insurance information, which he has at this time, refused to provide. At this time I do not want *** to have anything further to do with my roof, but I do believe I am owed a refund due to the fact that I will now have to pay for an entirely new roof as well as the interior damage to my home. I am trying to avoid going to court and would like this to be settled as peacefully as possible.
