1 starI recently purchased a used 2015 ***** Pilot from Toyota of Ann Arbor. Prior to the vehicle going in to service for its presale inspection & detailing I met with ***** (sales) and made arrangements to purchase the vehicle. I informed ***** at that time I was not interested in any dealer "add-ons". After the vehicle cleared inspection I returned to pick the car up. At that time it was revealed the service ***** accidentally installed add-ons that were declined during our sales agreement. I was told that as this was their error I would not be charged for the add-ons. Upon receiving the sales invoice (via. email) I was in fact charged for add-ons. The next day I called ***** and **** (finance) and was assured that the charges would be removed. I has been approx. 4 weeks and the charges have still not been credited. Multiple calls and messages to Toyota of Ann Arbor (*****, ************* have gone unanswered and without reply. I would STRONGLY advise you to shop anywhere except Toyota of Ann Arbor for a vehicle. Their sales and finance tactics are anything but ethical. Nothing but slick salesmen and deceptive finance people. Once they have your money you WILL be ignored.Review fromJoel D

A friend of mine bought a used 2018 Corolla form this dealership. Over the course of this transaction, the people of this dealership have exhibited pure incompetence and have lacked any sort of decency when treating those that keep them in business. From the start of this process, my friend has been treated poorly to say the least. The workers of the dealership have lied. When caught in those lies, they have tried to cover them up with more lies. Issues exist from the car itself to the warranty, the contract, and everything in between. This dealership does not care about its customers. Each of their salesmen embody the qualities that only prove the stereotype that salesmen just want to make a sale. The workers at this business do not have the situational intelligence to reason through any problems a customer may have. For their sake, I hope the dealership figures all of this out before a judge signs off on an order that will pay tens of thousands of dollars to my friend in damages. There's a reason business isn't accredited and has the grade it does. For the next customers of this business: don't be tricked by a smile and don't be swayed by false promises.Toyota of Ann Arbor

******, unfortunately, I cannot see whom your friend is from your review though I would be happy to intercede and see how I can help. We obviously missed the **** for them somehow. That said, ********** very much about our customers and their experiences. I cannot work with you but, if your friend would reach out to me directly at either ************ or via email at ********************************* I would love to try and help.Review fromM. M.

Mistakes are made. Sometimes many. But covering with lies is inexcusable. These people did both when selling a car to my son. Several weeks later, and we still don't have all that my son bought and the paperwork to show for it. Steer clear. We're off to the *** for help. Shame!Toyota of Ann Arbor

**************************, I tried reaching out to you directly with no response. My understanding it that we have bent over backwards to help your son who often would call and become verbally abusive to our staff. I would appreciate the opportunity to help if there is missing documentation. I have been told by our manager that you guys were looking for payment information from us. In your son's case, he arranged his own loan so we do not have that information. Please let me know if I can help with anything at ************ or **********************************M. M.

Then why have you not applied for the Toyota Certified warranty and sent him corrected interior/exterior coverage papers (for which he paid an extra $1,000) showing coverage for a used car, rather than "N/A" for a used car? You have not tried to "reach out," and you have all of our contact information. You are so full of gas that all you have done is blow with no show. Two months after purchase, and we still do not have what we bought. And I cannot believe you charged my son the $15 late fee for title when it took you three weeks to apply.Buyer beware!Review fromAmber F

I had previously given this dealership a four star review. However, after MONTHS of corresponding with ***** and ****** requesting that a check my mother wrote be sent back to ** in the mail and still not receiving the check, Im forced to change my review. On October 13th I was told that the check would be located and put in the mail. Its been over a month. We saw ****** put the check in his drawer while we were there in September. So, unless the check grew legs and walked away, it should still be there. Its fine if the check was shredded or thrown away but no one has the gall to tell us this information. Instead, Ive been pacified with promises to look for and mail the check with no follow up until I send another e-mail to request a status update. Stay away from this dealership!!!!!!!!Toyota of Ann Arbor

1 starI work in marketing by trade, so I have honestly never met a company that DIDN'T want to sell a vehicle more. We found a nice used Highlander on their site that we were pretty sure we would like to purchase. We put our ducks in a row and arranged for preapproved financing through our credit union. We contacted the dealership to ensure the vehicle was still on the lot since they were 2 hours north of us. I sent them pictures and the *** # of the vehicle we were considering using as a trade. We even had ***** cash to put down if needed. After sending the info to the salesman ***, he sent me a text letting me know that they were not accepting any financing that was not provided by the dealership. I inquired why that was if they wanted to sell the vehicle. My wife tried calling as well. *** did not respond, instead, we were immediately handed over to the Sales Manager Hunter. Hunter called me and told me they were only allowing financing through banks they already had a deal with. No doubt to make more money on the backend. We contacted other dealerships, including Toyota dealerships. We asked those same sales departments and they saw this as shady and questionable practice. Sure it is good to have financing through the dealership to make more money, but the end goal is to move cars...period. So to make a little more cash on the backside, they passed up selling us a vehicle, and we will take our preapproval to another dealership that actually wants to sell cars.As I said, I am in marketing by trade, so I know that reviews DO hurt companies, and DO drive customers away. I do not anticipate this dealership will try to make things right, thus giving me the chance to remove this review. So hopefully it will help others not waste their time and find one of the MANY MANY other dealerships in the *** Arbor area that can give them the service they deserve.Review fromChad N

1 starDealership never disclosed selling vehicle over MSRP. Purchase offer was misleading and showed a -$5,000 rebate/savings that I was under the impression offset the Selling Price line that showed a $5,000 markup from MSRP. Website shows their vehicles priced at MSRP. They also put add on's that they won't let you remove when asked. Wanted LoJack removed and they claimed they could not take off and comes with vehicle and will save me 20-25% on my car insurance. My insurance agent told me my savings was $2 for the year. Was told by salesperson we could not use our own financing but that the dealership would use my local credit union if their rates were not what we were looking for. When I questioned I was told, "it is what it is" and I could refinance in 90 days if I don't like it. They made me wait 2.5 hours for the finance department and when I did go in it was mainly high pressure to buy their service contracts and add on's. When going over the service contracts they just give you part of the information that makes everything sound good. I should have just left but I hope my complaint will help other people from being swindled by these crooks.
