This review is regarding the new ER in *********** **. I have had 3 experiences with this emergency department in the last 4 years I have lived here. They have all been horrible. Let me start by saying I am an RN and have worked in healthcare since I was 18! I have knowledge and understanding from a health care providers point of view AND a patients point of view. I have never been treated so poorly by medical staff my whole life. My first visit was due to sudden onset of excruciating pain in my knee that I had an ACL reconstruction surgery a month prior. During this visit I was treated like I was drug seeking instead of focusing on the actual problem. I was shamed because I didnt call my surgeon from DOWN STATE prior to coming in. Really I just wanted to make sure something didnt break at the surgical site. My next visit was due to starting a new medication a week prior and having a reaction which involved palpitations and high blood pressure. This time I was treated like I was crazy, my story didnt add up to them. I was extremely anxious and treated like I was just being a drama Queen. I was dismissed and belittled for being anxious. they actually did some tests to ensure it wasnt a cardiac event but also didnt hesitate to continue to shame me for coming into the emergency department still breathing. Today, The right side of my face has been blown up like a balloon for 3 days. I have been on antibiotics for 2 days and it continues to swell. I did the proper thing and went to ****** care yesterday because I sure didnt want to be shamed a 3rd time for going into ER with a heart beat. The urgent care gave me antibiotics and said if I dont see improvement within 24 hours I should go into ER and get a CT scan. Facial infections have increased risk for spreading to the brain and the heart. Despite taking these antibiotics the swelling continues to get worse. ************* didnt feel I needed imaging or even bloodwork. Gave me steroid shot and told me to follow up
