The purpose of my writing to the BBB is because I have went back and forth with Capital Area Travel Leaders of ***********, both ************************* and the owner *********************** to no satisfaction and believe that they owe me at least $4,000.00 in fraudulent overcharges and neglect of fiduciary obligation. CATL present a package to me with the minimum price possible (offering that the single supplement may be waived for your trip if you hurry), ask for an $1894 non-refundable deposit and then present the package to me with a price that has gone up exponentially and leave you with two choices. Either pay the price or give up your deposit. So they either make a good profit for doing little or make a better profit and lose a lifetime customer. The tour operator (GOWAY) has a price for per person double occupancy and a price for singles. The per person double occupancy price listed was $5649 and the single price was $7779 and just a few hundred dollars more for the time of year that I chose to travel and while ****** refused to comment on why the package price went up exponentially at the time she did finally send me an email after I returned from the trip and we were trying to get answers to all the issues stating simply that the list price never is the final price and we doubled the single price to you and thats the pricing problem that you dont understand, and they refuse to answer the question- 1. How can you charge me for two people and not charge as a single traveler as advertised?2. Why did you wait until after the trip was over to tell me the trip was covered for a second person out of my pocket minus flight and two excursions? It is painful enough paying a 50% supplement! I would certainly like to know and Im sure the general public should know how CATL can convert the single price offered by a tour company to a per person activity and then double the cost to that traveler and act like thats okay with no duty to those that look to them for travel?
