On 8/2/24 we received a bill from Pediatrix Medical Group stating we had a pass due payment from our stay in the hospital when our daughter was born. This was the first bill we received from them. Additionally, the patient name, our daughter's, was incorrect which raised suspicion as to the legitimacy of the bill. When I called the company to validate the bill and tell them I had never received a bill prior to this past due bill, I learned they had birthdate of my wife, who the bill was addressed to wrong. Needless to say, all of this information does not give me confidence this is a legitimate business and not a scam. If this is a true bill then Pediatrix Medical Group should have legitimate info so this reflects a legitimate bill. At this time (8/2/24), we have not made payment.

My daughter was born 6/9/2023 at ********************************* in *********, **. My insurance is through my employer, which is also Ascension, and they participate in "no surprise billing." Once out of the hospital, I get a bill for pediatrix seeing my daughter in hospital, which I was never made aware of. My insurance paid the max ****** allowed in August 2023, which we have evidence of in the way of checks and explanation of benefits, but Pediatrix continues to say they never got payment and they did not receive anything. I have called several times and have also participated in three way phone calls with my insurance trying to get to the bottom of things, but Pediatrix does not want to cooperate and is now threatening me with sending to collections. ****, the supervisor, is not very helpful either. What else can be done to resolve this? I should not owe them anything else.

I have been working with my benefits team and insurer to attempt to adjust my medical bill balance to the correct amount on my EOB. After more than 40 attempts to contact Pediatrix by myself and my team, Pediatrix continues to give generic responses saying that they will review and respond in "x" number of days. Last month, they transferred this incorrect balance to a debt collector who is now contacting me. Despite all of this, Pediatrix has billed me more than I owe on at least one line item and has now taken more than the allowable amount from me. I would simply like to bring this to an end without hurting my credit score or proceeding with any legal actions, but it seems I'm not unique in this case. There are many examples of this company engaging in these deceitful billing tactics across the internet.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

The provider has indicated that all accounts are now closed, with 0 balance, and that the 3rd party creditor is to return the previous balance and not pursue any collections or make any reports to any credit bureau. As long as this remains true, I am grateful to finally bring this to a close.

This group cared for Twin A and B. We have a max out of pocket that was met due to the length of stay for both and mother. This company did not comply with state of Texas timely billing as bills were first being received via mail over a year after their birth. When family called about a bill over $30k (more than double the max out of pocket) the group repeatedly stated that the primary insurance company had denied several claims while in the ***** Family confirmed with insurance that this was not the case. When this was stated to the group - they stated there wasn't anything they could do as that is what their records show. We refuse to be in the middle of this and are now receiving medical collection notices for an inaccurate amount. The group is unwilling to correct their errors. Additionally, both twins are on ******** as a secondary insurance that would absorb any additional expense. Family has been unable to update this oversight by the company as the bill is no longer with the group.

My son was born on 1/19/22. He was given care in the hospital by pediatrix Medical Group. They sent me a bill and I set up a payment plan and made the first payment on 3/19/23. After that, I had it set up for automatic withdrawal. I had help paying bills through ******************************* at the time. They called pediatrix and made a deal with them. Instead of paying the full amount of $1,352.00 in payments over time they would pay them a lump sum of $878.80. Pediatrix agreed to this and ******************************* paid the agreed upon amount on 3/20/23. Instead of cancelling the payment plan and automatic withdrawal and paying me back my initial payment of $56.33 they took 3 more payments out over the next 3 months (4/20/23, 5/22/23, 6/20/23). As soon as I figured this out on 6/21/23 I called to resolve the matter. They have been taking me on a run-around ever since. At first they said I still owed them money. When I reminded them of their deal with ******************************* they said that I didn't owe anything but that they didn't know if I would get my payments back. When I kept pushing they said they needed explanation of benefits from *******************************, to which they gladly complied. They said they were going to expedite it and get back with me. I was told this several times over the next few months. After a year of arguing and turning them in to the ************************ they finally called in February of 2024 to tell me that they were sending a check in the mail and it should be here in 8 weeks or so. By July 2024 the check still had not come. I called pediatrix on 7/10/24 and they say they don't know why the check wasn't sent out. Since then I have talked with them 3 times and still no answers except they are looking into it and are going to expedite it again. This gives me no hope, as we have been through this already to no avail. $225.32 may not be much to some, but to me it is a week of food for my family. Please help.

We received a bill on 5/2/24 for healthcare that was provided 2/5/23 - 3/8/23 (over a year ago) for nearly $3,000 so we contacted United Healthcare since my out-of-pocket maximum was reached last year and didn't expect any additional bills. UHC has no record of Pediatrix Medical Group making an insurance claim which after seeing their reviews seems like a common theme. We've attempted to contact Pediatrix Medical Group by phone ************* and ************) several times and the phone continues to ring with no voicemail option. We need answers as to why no claim was filed, but no way to contact.

My daughter was born in May 2022 at ************************ in *********, **. Pediatrix medical group provided the typical newborn screenings and services in house, but as a separate ******. We initially paid $267 out of pocket as our portion of their bill after insurance. For unrelated reasons, my insurance adjusted the claims and ended up paying all but $105. So we have been long owed a refund of about $160 from Pediatrix, as they have our overpayment just sitting there. I have spoken to them via email and phone multiple times, about 8, since March 2024. They assure me it will take 1-2 weeks and I will get my refund. That was 4 months ago. I feel that these companies hope the consumer will forget, and its so wrong to try to turn an ever further profit off of families paying multiple medical bills for newborn services.

The statement date for the bill we received was 6/7/24, and the ******************* is $1,665. The charges are $764 for **************** or Birth (5 April 2024), $655 for Hospital Discharge Day (6 April 2024), and $250 for Hearing Screening Auditor (6 April 2024). I was never informed about either the doctor mentioned on the bill, birth services doctor ********************** or hearing and screening *********************************************** nor have I seen these doctors or been informed that they were out of network. The "birth service" in question was billed for 5 April 2024, when the birth was on 4 April 2024. I receiveda letter from collections stating that I owed over $3000 to Pediatrix Medical Group. I immediatelycalled Pediatrix requesting an itemized report of what I was being billed for and requested documentation of how and when they tried to contact me. They informed me that they called one time and gave me a phone number that was incorrect. They also told me that they never billed my insurance, either. They had all of my information incorrect even though I had paid a previous bill from them for a prenatalultrasound. At the point of my first call to discuss why I was sent to collections, my child was already a year and a half old. I have since called four times requestingan itemized report with codes, which they continue to tell me: "I will put it in the notes that you called and requested this information, and it will be mailed to you within two weeks." My child is now two years old, and this has yet to be resolved. I have not received ANY documentation from Pediatrix on what and why I am being billed. I have also contacted the hospital, and they pulled every itemized report from me and my child to prove that I have paid in full for all supplies, equipment, and medical providers. The insurance company also confirmed that I have paid in full. There is absolutely no proof that Pidiatrix provided any medical support during my or my child's stay. This is a direct violation of the No Surprise Act and fraudulent charges. If this isn't resolved, I am ready to take legal action against Pediatrix Medical Group. The balance needs to be removed immediately. I will also file complaintswith all parties associated with the No SurpriseAct.
