Purchased via loan 9/12/2022 for $16,500.Late last year I purchased a used vehicle on 9/12/2022 from XYZ motors. Had CEL come on not even 1 month of owning the vehicle. Called dealer and they suggested taking the car to Velocity Motors to have it checked and serviced. Well Velocity Motors could not fix the issue so dealer ate the cost of inspection and diagnosing. Velocity Motors then referred me to ************ Motor Car. After diagnosing and taking the engine apart to find the cause of injector 4 not working was told it needed a new ECM/Computer. Cost me $4,500 dollars and took a few weeks to source the part. Paid out of my pocket and dealer offered $1,000 towards the repair cost. Car ran great for another month before it left me stranded downtown. Updated the dealer and was told to have it rechecked at GR Motor since it could be related to the work that was previously done there. Well it was not related and GR Motor determined there is no compression on cylinder 5. Now I will again need to pay 5K+ just to take the head off, diagnose and see what can and cannot be done to fix this new issue along with costs. I was told it could be anything from a burnt valve to actually needing to replace the entire engine! At which point none of the money spent in diagnosing would go towards the engine repair. I am beyond frustrated. Other than the first week of enjoying the vehicle this has turned into a financial and personal nightmare for the past 7 months. I would definitely suggest a "Buyer Beware!" when thinking about a vehicle purchase from this place. Especially after reading all the 1 star and 2 star ****** Reviews. I am still emailing the dealer any and every update that I get. I feel stuck with no way out. I have since had a conversation with the dealer and ****** basically told me I knew what I was buying as the car is a 2008. I told him that I did not know.Update. So I am being quoted for a new engine. $15k total. Unreal. A grand shy from the selling price.

    Business Response

While we can certainly understand frustrations and disappointment with ********************* 2008 S5, we have been in touch with him on several occasions during the last 7 months.

When *************************** spoke with our sales manager ****** prior to getting the vehicle fixed at GR Motorcar, we offered to buy the vehicle back or pay the portion of the bill. *************************** choose for ** to pay the portion of the bill and keep the vehicle. As stated in the review, the car ran great after that. *************************** drove it for a full month with no issues. What caused another issue a month later can be attributed to many factors, including but not limited to how hard the car was driven.

We have done everything in our power to help out: we paid for the inspection and diagnosis at Velocity Motors and we offered to purchase the vehicle back or pay a portion towards the bill. We sell all of our vehicles as is and offer service contracts at the point of sale.

We understand that things happen after vehicle purchase, and this is why we always work with our customers to solve issues. We are always available to help and can be reached at ************. While we can sympathize over unexpected repairs, we don't feel we should be held liable to continue to pay for any further repairs.
