I am very unhappy with my homeowners insurance and on September 8 I purchased a new policy elsewhere and am still being charged at hastings mutual and bhs. I contacted my agent tammy c******* at bhs and told her I wish to cancel insurance with them and they have not complied. I had roof damage and interior damage on my home, my roof leaks, shingles are missing and the roof is in very poor condition. I proceeded to contact bhs and hastings mutual for roof repair or replacement. I decided not to have an interior inspection because I can handle that repair without insurance, low and behold that was a stupid decision on my part because you at hastings mutual had my roof inspected and decided it only needs a few shingles meaning I didn't meet my deductible. My roof is in horrible condition not just needing a few shingles it leaks. What happens when the whole rest of the house starts being damaged then it's going to need way more than a roof. I cannot afford a roof myself, partly because I am paying you guys for supposed premium service at 1,600 every year, why pay for premium home insurance if your not going to help me. I found new homeowners insurance for half the price, will they help with my roof now no they wont but neither will bhs or hastings mutual. Therefore I am finding that you people have took advantage of me, took my money and now are running for the hills when I never had a single claim not a single one because I was taught not to make insurance claims unless it was absolutely necessary.

We also checked with Hastings on your claim and the portion of your roof that was damaged while you were insured through them was covered; the claim also showed pre-existing damage that would not be covered through the current policy.
