    Company feels it’s ok to not mention the company name when collecting information but saying calling on behalf of an a major healthcare system is enough even though it’s obvious they want you to think it’s safe to talk to them. Then proceed to give out my name and address instead of asking for me to give that information.Spoke with supervisor they let me know that I’m just very opinionated and it’s public knowledge. So I guess they feel it’s ok calling giving out everyone’s name a address and tell whoever answered the phone about all the debt that person has cause like he kept saying it’s public information so that makes it ok.

    Thank you for your review. *** **** Associates prides itself on its compliance with all state and federal laws, rules and regulations, which includes the requirement to confirm the identity of the person we are speaking with prior to disclosing the reason for our call. This ensures data privacy for the consumer, so that their private business information is not disclosed to a third-party without their consent. These requirements are in place to ensure both our compliance with the law and consumer rights. We understand the frustration it can cause for consumers having to confirm their identifying information prior to being told why we are calling, especially in today's world of scammers trying to steal identifying information, but our hands are tied by the requirements of the law.

    My next attempt to resolve this matter will be a call to the Office of the Attorney General for the state of Michigan (Consumer Protection division).A company puroprting to be ******************************************* calls my home daily from phone number (800) xxx-3790. When we respond to their incoming call, they do not speak on the line and the call disconnects. When we miss one of their incoming calls, they do not leave a voicemail message. My household has perfect credit and these ******************************************* calls give us concern about 2 issues: 1 ) Could there be some obscure bill that we overlooked, and 2) given that identity theft and data breaches are on the rise, has some criminal/scammer opened an account using the identity of someone in our household?We called LJ Ross today using the main Google-verified phone number of (800) xx6-9206 (instead of the suspicious (800) 53*-379*) and we asked them to tell us WHY THEY ARE CALLING our phone number each day. They confirmed that they have a correct phone number for our household (i.e., the number they've been calling) but They REFUSED to give us any information about a possible "collection account" until we divulged even more personal information. This was despite the fact they already knew who my family were, from our caller ID! I do not trust this company's insistence on more personal data in the current ID theft environment. I AM MAKING AN HONEST EFFORT to identify and either pay or dispute whatever bill or debt LJ Ross is calling my home about, but they refuse to tell me what that "collection" item is...until I give information that they don't really need to have?! That is not acceptable from a personal data protection perspective.. They should have been willing to state the nature of the supposed "collection item" based on strictly the phone number from which I was calling, which they admitted was clearly on the screen in front of them. I therefore provided NO any further personal information.

Unfortunately, we are bound by both state and federal laws, rules and regulations that prevent us from disclosing any information about a debt to any party without first confirming their identity. This is to avoid a potential third-party disclosure of the details of a debt owed to the wrong party. We must confirm the first and last name of the party we are speaking with, along with at least one other identifier, such as address, last four of social security number, or date of birth. Again, this is a requirement of both state and federal laws and regulations to protect consumers from having their debts disclosed to third parties. We understand the process is frustrating at best, but our hands our tied in this matter. Our agents are doing their job and complying with state and federal law by requiring more information to confirm if we have the correct party or not. The zip code you have provided of ***** shows that you are a resident of *********/*************. Our business is licensed in all 50 states, including the State of ******** and also with the **********************************************************. Our license number is ***********. You may contact the ******** to confirm the legitimacy of our business and our business license. We are here to help and want to do what we can to help you, but we will need to confirm that we either have the correct or incorrect party before we can do so.

    Company reported to two major credit bureaus on an account that was not mine and was never proved to be mine. when I called them to dispute, they threatened me with legal action and insisted the account was mine. For a credit collection agency, they aren't abiding by the laws.

    I'm pleased with my experience. I arranged and made 2 payments on a forgotten utility bill and was able to work out a removal from my report. The interaction was pleasant and process was as easy as making the two payments.

    LJ Ross is absolutely ridiculous. They have had a NEGATIVE IMPACT ON MY CREDIT FOR YEARS. FLP also known as ********************** who I have electricity with. I have been a customer since 2017. For some strange reason LJ ROSS has reported this as a Natural Disaster I have had an account with FPL and believe me if your $1.00 late on your bill, FPL will shut your electricity off. So if I have a current in good standing account how would I have a negative report from FPL LJ ROSS on my credit??? I have disputed so many times, Im tired. I cant figure out why???? It seems to me LJ ROSS just wants to keep people down. There is no reason this should be on my credit, if I had a balance with FPL I WOULD NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM. They would deny me. Please remove this from my credit.
