I contracted with Village Bike to tune up two bikes I had purchased privately. I was told Id have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, so I left both bikes with Village Bike. When my appointment day came up, I was informed after a few hours that both bikes were ready. I was puzzled by this accelerated time frame as a thorough tune-up would take several hours I picked up one bike on one day and another a different day. I paid for each and took them home. I didnt scrutinize their work until today. I called the bike shop today to verify what a mid-grade tune up ($120) and my instincts were correct: they hadnt done the work I paid for. I identified myself to them and they said: Bring the bikes back in and well sort it out.. I feel this is disingenuous as they should have a checklist to assure the work was done as paid for. They were dishonest in their business dealings with me and they knew it.

    Hello,

This is **** the owner of Village Bike & Fitness.  I just talked with the customer and I don't understand his point of view.  He claims that we charged him for things that we didn't do.  Specifically, he says that we didn't do a drive train clean and it is on the receipt that he didn't get charged for a drive train clean but he says that he did.  When I pointed out that the reciept shows an $89 tune up (without drive train clean) and not a $149 tune up with drive train clean he wouldn't hear that.  Then he said that he paid for a service and we didn't do anything.  We provided a service of adjustments that you can't "see" that something has been adjusted and when I asked him if he rode his bikes he said he hasn't but he "knows" that we didn't do anything.  Finally he said it was weird that we got his bikes done to early in the day and that is way he believes that we didn't do anything.  His bikes were scheduled for service and he brought them in two weeks before his appointment day.  We have time scheduled each day to work on the appointments that we have scheduled.  If we ever have extra time then we work ahead on repairs that are currently in the building.  Sometimes we get service done before the committed date but the fact that we worked ahead and got things done early in the day shows we didn't do any work.  I offered to have us go thru his bikes to make sure that everything was done correctly and he refused to allow me to rectify any concerns that he has.

Please let me know how I can move forward with this complaint as he is not speaking truths which we have receipts to prove and won't allow us to resolve the concerns that he has.  I believe that this is unfair if his complaint is presented to the community as is.

They replaced the rear tire of my bike. I picked it up 4/13/24. They replaced my rear tire with one that is way too large and was rubbing against the frame. I know this because I tried to take it for a ride on 4/14/24 and it was rubbing against the frame making a loud noise. I asked for a refund for $60.03, the full amount. They refused to refund the labor - even though the tire was not properly set in the frame. They instead refunded me $45.03 and owe me $15.00.
