In January 2022 I hired Conely Builders to install the basement of a new house my wife and I were building. This was to include the footings, block walls, floor, drain tiles and sump pit. **** Conely told us that because the basement was small and a simple rectangle that it would only take a couple of weeks, but first he had to finish the project he was currently building. He indicated that the current project was almost done. Unfortunately, the current project took 2 months to complete. This delay cost us $8,000 because the primary contractor could only keep his original quote for a limited time due to rapidly increasing material costs. **** said because the project was so small, and it was in the middle of winter that he would tent the project and put in heaters and an electric generator. When Conely Builders finally arrived in March there was no tent or heaters, and the generator was not functioning. The project took a month instead of two weeks and was completed in April. It is August now and the house is enclosed. Every time it rains water seeps into the basement at the seam between the wall and the floor. The bottom row of cinder blocks absorbs the water like a sponge. No water has ever drained into the sump pit, it is completely dry. The drain tiles and sump are not functioning.I have called **** twice and emailed him twice to correct the problem. The last time I spoke to him he said we should get together the following Monday and look at the problem. He never showed up to that meeting and he has not responded to my last email. We need **** to correct this problem so that we can receive our Certificate of Occupancy for our new home.
