I purchased an online subscription for The Morning Sun, part of the ******************** The subscription term expiration date was May 28, 2024. At the time of subscribing the information provided by the company clearly stated: Your subscription is a continuous subscription and will renew at the end of the term. You may cancel anytime. You must cancel before your subscription term in order to avoid charges for an additional term. I complied with those terms of cancellation. On May 21 I phoned their customer service department and requested cancellation. I also sent an online notification via their website on May 22, 2024. Both of these notifications were sent prior to the expiration date. Nonetheless they withdrew from my bank account account the amount of $14.00 prior to the expiration date. At np time was I advised that the cancellation must be made at least one week prior to the renewal date, but only that it would automatically renew at the end of the term, as referenced above. When I contacted them again on June 7, *****, in their customer service department, told me they had sent an email to me on May 22, clearly stating that unless I would give a reason for cancellation that the subscription would continue. I never received this email and have searched even my junk and spam folders. That email was never received! Also, it is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard that providing an additional reason for cancellation is mandatory. The only reason needs to be that I choose to cancel and I notified them of that prior to the expiration date. Therefore, I ask that they refund the $14.00 which was inappropriately withdrawn .prior to the end of the subscription term.

$28 for ONE newspaper. With this company we renew our newspaper delivery a few times per year. Hidden in the resubscription is wording detailing that we would be charged extra for "special" newspapers that would release through the year. Mind you we are paying in advance the amount they set with charges being added to the account when they consider an edition "special" As we went to renew they told us that our account was past due for a service that was already paid in advance. After multiple phone calls it was finally admitted to us that we were charged for these "special" additions to the tune of $28 per paper. That is a $28 for ONE newspaper which was applied several times through the already pre paid subscription. This is a scam and by far the worst predatory practice i have dealt with in my 20 years in this business. The company contacts are all directed over seas to people who are not willing to help nor hand out American based contact information. This scam needs to be brought to full attention before more consumers are effected. We are seeking direct contact from this company to resolve the issue before moving forward with other options.

I renewed my subscription to the Morning Sun for 1 year back in July of 2022. It was paid for one year until 6/4/2023. I received a notice that my subscription was expiring on 4/15/2023 two months early. I called customer service on 4/4/2023 and was told my subscription went up 20 cents per delivery ********** only) and therefore my subscription was shortened. I told them I was prepaid and they could not do this. They wouldn't (or couldn't) extend it to 6/4/2023 for which I had paid. So I asked them to cancel it on 4/15/2023 which is the date on the bill that it said I was paid through. ****** (agent ****) said it was now paid through until 4/8/2023 instead of 4/15/2023 for fuel. My account number is *******.
