      I just bought a car from them last month I made one payment on the my vehicle and now it needs a new engine

      Brought my car in 9/3/24 for rough idle. Advised diagnosis would take 24/48 hours and cost $175. Seventy hours later I called and was told it could cost "around a thousand" to fix. 9/6 I authorized work via telephone, was told brakes measured low and oil change was needed though I had changed it myself in August!When I went to retrieve the car 9/7 I was surprised to learn the dealer did not accept checks (later okayed) and that the four sparkplugs replaced for $23.70 EACH had not been saved for me. I had no way of knowing they would be replaced. Likewise the two $67.87 replaced "sensors" had not been saved for me, this in apparent contradiction of the intent of what I believe to be state law. Total bill came to $1024.45 for a tune-up! I wish I had know of Betten's one star rating, but I trusted them as I drive by there every day and hadn't heard any negative word-of-mouth.

      If I could give less than a 1 star I would. First never buy a used vehicle from this place. They are junk, they do not look the vehicle over, they don't care that they sell crappy vehicles.I bought a 2014 ***** Silverado 1500 with ******* miles - sale price $29,000 on 02/04/22. For my sanity I also purchased a 3 year/36,000 mile extended warranty - 2nd to top tier warranty for $4500. 1. First month sold vehicle with a caved in roof that was covered with snow during purchase; rear worklight leaking water into cab; calipers failed - new brakes, pads, calipers; ********************** fails.2. 1-3 months issue with drivetrain - they can't figure out what issue is.3. 1 year ownership, finally determine that the transmission is bad within ***** miles of owning truck. During service of transmission i'm informed that Exhaust Manifold is warped and bolt is broken. They never fix this issue. Also parking brake isn't working - warranty will only cover half of the work needed. If i use the parking brake, the truck brakes seize and can't drive vehicle.4. 2 year ownership - bring truck in for Exhaust Manifold issue. Betten agrees to finish the parking brake. Engine lifters fail on truck. Betten will need my vehicle for a week. They provide a loaner that smells like an ashtray and tire is flat. Betten calls to say vehicle is ready. I arrive and immediately start hearing the same knocking/ticking noise. Wasted my time and they never checked the vehicle. VLOM is now on back order. Betten has my truck for a month and a half. I ask since Engine Lifters are bad, are the camshafts bad. Nope. Parts arrive and I get my truck back. 3 days later starts ticking again. I get the call that the camshaft bearings are bad and they will need to tear the engine apart.Bought vehicle for $33,000 (vehicle and warranty) Truck has been at Betten for 4 months out of 2 years. Warranty work is about $15,000 at this point and got a year to go still. Don't buy from Betten Baker Used vehicle and

      We looked at the car on July 14, 2022. The trunk release and door locks did not work. (The car had a sunroof). We asked if the sunroof leaked, and they said no. They said they had already gone through car. We asked them to fix the electrical issue and we would purchase the car. After it rained, we had water on the floor behind the driver's seat and water coming from the dash. We returned the car on July 28th. They blew the drains on the sunroof and said it was not leaking. When it rained again, we had water yet again. We took the car to ****** Chevrolet in New Era on August 22. They said the sunroof was leaking due to the track not seating all the way down and could not be adjusted anymore. The sunroof needed a new track. They suggested that we reach out to Betten since we had recently purchased it there and had issues already with water damage. I called the Sales Consultant and left messages. I didn't get any calls back. So, I called the Sales Manager and left messages. Finally, the Sales Consultant returned my call and said there was nothing they could do for me. I had ****** Chevrolet replace the track and we haven't had an issue since.The timing chain went out on this car a couple of months later. All these repairs were costly.I will never buy a car again from Betten. They do not inspect the cars thoroughly and do not stand behind them.****** Chevrolet in New Era not only diagnosed the problem properly but fixed it too.
