Northville Lumber is a unscrupulous, greedy business. I did a small project building a table and stairs with **** for my outdoor hot tub with my daughter, who is a Carpentry Apprentice. We spoke with their sales rep and gave them the measurements of what we needed. We had a list of board sizes we needed. Their sales rep said we needed more than what we had on our list, so we bought the amount the sales rep suggested. I also purchased **** post covers for the legs of the table and support posts for the stairs. We ended up NOT needing the additional **** boards. I ended up not being able to use the **** post covers either. I returned the extra **** boards and the **** post covers, which were were in unopened boxes. Northville Lumber charged me a 20% restocking fee for extra **** boards their rep said we needed, but didn't need, as well as 20% fee for the **** post covers THAT WERE UNTOUCHED AND IN UNOPENED, SEALED BOXES. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS, THEY ARE GREEDY AND UNSCRUPULOUS. No wonder they aren't BBB members.

Northville Lumber cheated us out of $926: we bought Trex decking for replacing our deck on 5/21/2022 total cost of $1424.75. We were told at that time when I asked about returns that a 20% restocking fee would be charged if we had to return any items not used or needed. A delivery by Northville Lumber Co. was scheduled and met for 5/27/2022. Items were placed in our garage by their delivery personnel. And we were charged $50 for the delivery.Once our contractor (who is a licensed engineer) investigated the job he told us that we would have to return the Trex decking we had purchased & purchase shorter & thicker lengths of Trex decking but after going to Northville Lumber & talking with their personnel we were told that we could not use the Trex decking & should change to treated wood for the replacement deck. So we then purchased the treated wood and planks that would be needed for the job that day for another $260+. My husband rented a U Haul truck to return the purchased Trex decking & supplies & have safe delivery back.. With the help of our contractor the *************** were loaded into the Haul and they drove to Northville Lumber Co. to do the return. When they arrived they were told that the Trex supplies would have to be inspected to be sure they could take them back. Their "inspectors" were staff that worked ************ told the front desk that there were 'scratches" on the returning boards (although they also had to call management to make sure the scratches were not dirt?). AND Northville Lumber also charged us the 20% restocking fee. Once the inspection and return was complete Northville Lumber only gave us back $581.91 back as a return.MOST IMPORTANTLY, when the Northville Lumber Co. delivered the Trex decking to our home the ***************** were placed on the floor of our garage & NEVER TOUCHED UNTIL OUR CONTRACTOR TOOK ONE PLANK for sizing. Now we have 8 planks of Trex decking that we cannot use and have to dispose. HELP!
