March 15th. I order soda through Uber eats. At around 1120 I was finally able to relax and watch tv and drink soda and something came up through the straw. I spit it through the straw. Hoping it was a wrapper or onion. But knowing it wasnt, the texture was gummy. I turned the lights on and dumped the drink through the straw hole. Mind you I already drank 2/3 of it. It was an earthworm. I immediately tried to throw up, messaged my healthcare provider. Not knowing what parasites I just ingested. I contacted the health department. And Uber eats. Ubereats refunded right away. The health department didnt find anything. But how did the worm get in my drink? The Uber eats was nkt to blame. The packaging was all intact. So did someone do this intentionally? I called the McDonalds and voiced my concerns to the manager/and general manager. I have not been sleeping. I have nightmares. And I dont trust anything with a straw or a beverage that I cannot see through. Im also still very worried for my health. Parasites can travel in blood stream and get into vital organs, brain, heart, etc. the general manager said he would escalate and that I would no longer hear from them, that someone from corporate McDonalds would reach out. They have not. Its like just because it was delivered through Uber eats McDonalds is taking no ownership of the worm. The lack of sleep. The new fear of straws, soda, and worms. (I cant go fishing now). Also it truly saddens me, Diet Coke from McDonalds was so delicious, I havent been back since.
