We engaged Cutting Edge Homes to reside our home with ***** ****** ******** ***** ***** ******. During the process (May 2021), it was discovered that certain trim work we were expecting, and which were discussed in pre-construction email, was not going to be completed. When the work was 75% complete, roughly, we did a walk through with the owners of Cutting Edge Homes and discovered areas of unsatisfactory craftsmanship. Cutting Edge acknowledged that there was no supervision on site during the entire project. We also discovered damage to our roof that was caused by the manner in which the pre-existing siding was removed, along with lack of proper preparation to the roof before the new siding was installed. After three walk throughs with the same punch list, many of our complaints were eventually addressed, but not all, with incomplete items being significant visually and structurally. As such, we have withheld our final payment of $10,699.88. We have paid to date, and timely, installments consistent with our contract equal to $39,612.06. We feel we do not have an obligation to pay a final balance until all work is completed to our satisfaction both visually and structurally. Cutting Edge Homes has filed a lien against our house rather fix our remaining issues. Cutting Edge Homes did not originally pull a permit for their work, as required by the **** ** *******. Once a permit was pulled, work was fully brought to code in December of 2021 (work began in May 2021). However, we purchased a premium product at a premium price, and we are yet unsatisfied with the work done for the price charged.
