Very disappointed with this company. A family member was a patient through this business. Michigan Psychological Care is not available to the public via phones as a business should be. They do not answer their phones during the day and when you leave a voice message, they do not call you back. They do not send out monthly billing statements, so the clients are never aware if or what they owe. They do not take any initiative to work with a client who has provided insurance information and when the client reasonably believes the insurance has covered a service (since they hadn't received a statement in 5 months) they send the client to collections. When you call to try to rectify the situation, they take no responsibility in the fact that they hadn't sent out a statement in 5 months and could care less if the services they provided are covered by insurance and said insurance hasn't paid the claim since they never received the information from them or other insurance. They do not feel it is their responsibility to contact or bill the insurance (although they are a participating provider). Very frustrating, especially when the collections company they sent you to (WHEN THEY HAVEN'T SENT YOU A MONTHLY BILL AND YOU BELIEVE INSURANCE HAS ALREADY PAID THEM) uses/lists on their statements a phone number AND THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL you medical equipment instead of putting you through to a person to discuss the issue at hand. Maybe this is the reason they are not accredited.

Hello -Michigan Psychological Care is available at our phone number listed on statements and our website Monday through Friday during standard business hours. If reception is unable to answer, clients are able to leave a voicemail and voicemails are returned (providing a return number was left in the voicemail) within the week at most. Before a client is sent to collections, our billing team sends a minimum of two statements to the address on file, as well as reached out via phone to attempt to establish a payment plan. Our agency doesnt enjoy sending clients to collections and its an option of last resort. Explanations of benefits from insurance are sent by the insurance company to the insured person. This indicates whether the services were denied, subject to a deductible, subject to a copay/coinsurance, or covered in full without client responsibility. There is a difference between a service being covered and being paid by the insurance company. We bill the insurance as a courtesy to clients and often reach out to let them know when insurance isnt paying or if theres an issue with coordination of benefits. Additionally, client balance is discussed at check in and available for viewing through our portal. Lastly, our agency does not sell medical equipment, so Im not sure what that situation is; but we only provide counseling services and evaluations.
