Everything before service seemed like it was going well, but the execution, follow up, and communication have all been absolutely dreadful. Excavation started okay, with work done as expected in a short amount of time. Bushes that needed to be taken out were pulled up by the crew and left on the lawn. When the excavation got underway the next day, the bushes they had pulled up were buried in the huge pile of dirt. And then when the trench was filled back in, the bushes were torn up and buried in my yard as part of the fill job. So sloppy and unprofessional, and seemed like it would cause issues with the lawn ever getting back to normal. Branches were sticking up out of the ground. I was told by the contractor that they would come back to "grade" the lawn later. Things finished on 2/28. On 3/20, I texted to see if I needed to do anything else to schedule the grading. No response. I tried again two days later. Got a text that he would "stop by today" to see if it had settled enough to grade it. Around mid-April I emailed the company directly to see what was going on, and letting them know I would be happy to pay when the work was finished. I got a prompt reply that explained a bit of the process which hadn't been told to me before, which I did appreciate. No proactive communication from the company for a while, until they sent me a terse email saying I needed to make payment even though work wasn't done. I paid most of the balance. Texts to the contractor typically were not responded to quickly or at all, and always indicated that he would come out today to see if it was settled enough to grade. I finally had to pay the balance to complete my insurance claim. I emailed to ask for an updated invoice showing full payment. No response. That was back around mid-May, almost 3 months after the work was done. It is currently mid-September, and I just heard today that they forgot to tell me that they're totally done and won't do any more work. Completely dissatisfied.

Sewer replacements are major invasive work that always does damage to a yard, especially when done in the winter months. Our estimates that we give to our customers state very plainly that we do not do any yard or landscape restorations. The work was done in February and when everything is frozen or wet it is hard to make a yard look very good on backfill. But with work done in the winter months, we will come back and regrade the disturbed area in the spring once settling of the excavated trench has occurred and the soil has dried out which was done at no cost to the customer when we have a crew in the area. Our terms in the contract state that payment is due upon completion of the sewer replacement, so hence the reason we asked for payment. Not sure how responses to her were not followed up on, but unfortunately in this instance we apparently dropped the ball in not doing so in a timely manner. We do hundreds of sewers every year, and have virtually no dissatisfied customers I have reached out to the customer and asked her to call me and we could resolve any problems that she feels is still outstanding.
