When we had a roof leak that appeared to come from near a vent pipe 5 years ago, the 3 companies we first called said the whole roof needed replacing. The prices they quoted were staggering, particularly since our roof was only about ***** years old, was a mildly sloping roof and on a single-story ranch home. 2 of these companies advertise all the time in SE ********. The prices seemed excessive. I was speaking to a neighbor, who suggested I call Ethical Exteriors, who installed their quite complex roof. They came out and looked at the area from above and inside the attic and said it was an easy repair. They did it for a very small fraction of what had been quoted by the others, and said our roof had another 10+/- years left on it. It hasn't leaked from there since their repair. Fast forward to just before the July 2024 holiday weekend, when we got hit by heavy rains and strong winds that dropped limbs from the trees on our property and knocked a tree down across the street. A leak in a new place started from what I thought was the valley where two roof sections came together. I tarred the valley, but the leak continued. I figured the roof was now toast. I called Ethical Exteriors. They came out, said the problem was isolated, and fixed it at a very reasonable price. The problem turned out not to be from the valley, but where a nail was sticking up. They fixed it, and several other similar areas and said we probably had at least another 3-5 years left on the roof. Needless to say, when it comes time to replacing it, we're going to have Ethical Exteriors do it.
