      Hagerty Insurance Company refuses to provide adequate compensation to my wife who was injured in a car accident caused by a driver who was insured through Hagerty.

      Were sorry to hear about this incident and your wifes injuries.  The ***************** requires a coverage called Personal Injury Protection to process any medical claims for injuries, and this would be available from her own insurance carrier.  Her insurance provider can offer her more information on this coverage and how to process her claim.  Only when a persons injuries are severe enough to exceed the tort threshold could that person collect payment from an at-fault party in ********.   Our Claims adjuster may be reached at ************ to address any questions your wife may have about the tort threshold and/or review any additional information that she would like us to consider about her individual claim. For privacy reasons, we cannot share any specific injury claim details here.

      ******** claims that " Only when a persons injuries are severe enough to exceed the tort threshold could that person collect payment from an at-fault party in ********. However, 
      ******** insists that this tort threshold has not been met, yet they have already made an offer of $1000.00 to Maddalena for her injuries which we feel is insufficient.  By this reasoning, ******** has contradicted themselves. If we cannot make a settlement through this avenue , we will meet in court. At this time, Maddalena is willing to accept an offer of $2,500.00 which we feel is fair and reasonable compensation for her physical and emotional injuries due to the detrimental actions of their client causing such injuries. This payment will suffice only if payment is made without any further delay and only then will Maddalena sign a waiver for any further damages.

      Hagerty is now back tracking from their first response claiming it was a "general" statement when in fact it was a specific statement and a false one which I have refuted as such because they HAVE made an offer despite their claim that a tort threshold was not reached,  albeit an insufficient offer.  While I can appreciate that they have forwarded my response to the claims adjuster, unless she meets our counteroffer terms, we will continue to reject these statements and/or begin litigation

      I was in an accident with a Hagerty insured driver when he backed out of his driveway without checking for traffic and I was unable to stop in time and hit his back end. My car was totalled and not driveable. The other driver was ticketed for improper backing and deemed completely at fault for the accident by a state trooper. It has been almost a month and I have heard literally nothing from Hagerty about resolving this and they do not return any of my calls. Today, I spoke with my insurance company and they adivised that Hagerty is trying to claim that I am at fault because their driver claims he was stopped in the road. If this were the case, we both would have been cited for the accident. They are clearly trying to get out of paying for the damages caused by their driver and it is unacceptable. I have attempted to contact the claims supervisor to no avail as that contact has, also, gone unresponded to. I am not going to stop fighting this simply because they won't respond. I am reaching out through BBB as a last resort. My next contact is to the Department of Insurance.

      We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. Our Claims team has reviewed your claim and the police report. Based on our review of the evidence,and the contributory negligence laws of ************** for which recovery is barred if/when both drivers contribute even 1% to an accident, we are unable to provide payment for your damages. We left you a voice message on June 1, 2022 and invited a return call. Your claims adjuster would appreciate the opportunity to address your questions and/or review any additional evidence you may have for consideration.

      Yes, after almost a month of no contact, I have received the letter but you have provided absolutely no evidence of your reasoning and the police report clearly shows that only your client was at fault. I did not receive a call or message on June 1st as you claim and none of my calls have been returned. I believe you are abusing the contributory negligence law to avoid paying for an accident caused by your client and the number of complaints here and on consumer affairs paint a very clear picture that this is common practice.

      I filed an insurance claim with Hagerty Insurance back in December of 2021 for repairs of my classic **** Grand Prix. Well its May of 2022 5 months later I have spoken to the adjuster twice regarding my claim even though I have called and left messages and e-mails to his supervisor *********************** and I still get no response to my claim. I did speak with the adjuster ************************* back in December when he informed me that he would be the adjuster handling the claim and I never got another response from him until 5/24/2022. Hagerty did send me a check for ******* back in January 2022. Well I went to 4 different auto body shops to get estimates and they could not believe Hagerty estimate for the repairs several of them were in their network but not 1 of them would touch my classic for they said it would be hard matching the paint. I were able to find two auto body restoration that I got estimates from and I forwarded the estimates to the adjuster and his supervisor and as of today I have not heard back from them. I will be taking my classic to get repaired the week of 5/30/2022 .If I have to I will be getting an Bad Faith Insurance Claim lawyer for I pay my insurance premiums every year no customer should be disrespected like this. Is this how hagerty treat all their customers ??

      Thank you for your feedback.  We understand your frustration and apologize for any inconvenience. It looks like our first payment was issued January 3rd.  After we received your new estimate on April 22,  there were a couple bumps in the road.  Our attempt to communicate with the shop that gave that estimate was unsuccessful,and our appraiser wasnt able to complete an updated appraisal for your repairs.  We would love nothing more than for you to be back on the road and have escalated your file with our claims team.  A new adjuster was assigned to get your new appraisal once you have found your shop of choice.

      Hagerty deals in collector cars and is supposed to have their owners back. My car was damaged and Hagerty did not make me " whole" , meaning that my policy has a $0 deductible for repairs yet I was forced to pay nearly $1000 to get my car from the repair shop because Hagerty did not pay the full balance to have my car released from the shop. I've had over 60 conversations with them about the repair process. Most of those calls where initiated by me. I was promised return calls on several occasions without receiving such calls. I was promised partial payments which were not issued as promised until I further followed up and spoke to another rep. By the way, this process took close to 6 months, all summer long and then some. Granted it took me a few weeks to locate the parts required to do the job. 2 shops were involved ... all with the blessings of the Hagerty reps who I was in constant contact with , especially when changing between shops. The bottom line is that there was / and is , poor communication from Hagerty. I've been left in the lurch all the while in communication with Hagerty. Their rep was on the phone with me all the while I finished with the first shop and advised me what to do in my situation and when I told them I needed to go to another shop, they said " no problem " we'll finish the car and you will be happy. I'm NOT happy and out almost $1000 when I should have to pay nothing. Hagerty , even after my continuous prompting drug it's feet on payment and my car sat at the shop completed for about a month. finally the shop gave me an ultimatum to pay in full or have the car shipped off to a storage unit which would further accrue money owed. I was forced to pay the difference between the shop bill and Hagerty's payment. The whole experience has been a nightmare. I've tried relentlessly to resolve this issue, being stuck between the shop and Hagerty. I was told there is a third supplement from the shop and adjuster but no further payment made.

      On July 10th a driver with Hagerty insurance backed in to my vehicle causing extensive damage to the rear quarter panel of the drivers side of my Challenger. They did send money to begin repairs but the estimate was low and more parts were needed. The supplement was not paid. There has been no part to repair my car for three months now. Now the excuses and double talk start as Hagerty said they would total the vehicle pending parts numbers and availability and promised an answer in four days. No answer. I had to call back as they "lost my number" I was then told they never said that, and they don't care if I have to wait three years for parts as they would not total the car. Another couple weeks go by and I was promised, by a manager on his word a phone call back, and an offer for the supplement and diminished value on Oct 12, again , they did not call me back nor settle the claim as promised. So three months later the claim is still open and my car is not restored nor have I been paid

      Hagerty insurance company has systematically denied payment for a no fault accident that happened to my 1968 Chevelle. I have repeatedly requested that their appraisers come and evaluate the damage to my car. they never showed up and have been dragging this out since June 24th 2021. I have repeatedly asked to have their agency to come out and evaluate this claim. Only after multiple instances of frustration and delays I made the decision to finance the repairs to the vehicle myself. I have receipts totaling over 20 thousand dollars for the repairs necessary. Hagerty Insurance Company has repetitively delayed the resolution of this claim over and over again. I received a letter on 9-1-2021 from their agency stating that they were sending out an independent adjuster to make a determination of my claim. as of today Oct 12th 2021 (42days) no appraiser/adjuster has come or called me regarding my loss. A call to Becky today at Hagerty has resulted in the same result.

      Hagerty insurance Payables withdrew $37.92 from my checking account on September 28,2021 without authorization! We've never done any business with them. They are a car insurance for classic cars .Their company is in ********. We've called them 4 different times and none of their employees can help us .They've said they'd call us back and never do. This was a direct withdrawal from our checking account without our consent. We've never even heard of this company! Id like to be contacted from this company to get some answers including how they got my information, and to be refunded. Their address is ******************************** ******************* .
