    My shipper choose Central Transport to deliver 5 at 100 pounds each Air Conditioners. ******* was never asked what was being shipped.Opon receiving on my end 1 of the A/Cs were damaged beyond repair The value of the unit was $879 plus shipping I filed a claim and the company said they only pay $2 a pound on air conditioners and heating units Then it now looks like they want to give me only $20 for the damaged unit As a result I spoke with my shipper and he will not do business with them again

    Thank you for reaching out and bringing this matter to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused. Our liability for specific commodities, including air conditioners and heating units, is indeed limited to $2 per pound. This policy is standard across the industry and is communicated in our terms and conditions. As such, the compensation for the damaged unit is based on this liability limit, we are unable to alter the compensation amount due to these established guidelines. If a replacement is what you are seeking, Central Transport would suggest contacting the manufacturing company to request a product replacement.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

    So Im the one who has to spend more money for my item who you were intrusted in? I spoke with the shipper and you never disclosed you were not responsible for anything but 2 dollars a pound . He agreed he will never ship with you again because he values his customers more then the ********************** business. And if this is a standard for shipping these products Why does UPS,FedEx  honor damage claims ? Its hard to believe this because these companies would be out of business with losses like this . Seems like I need to get into this business where nothing is your fault and profit just rolls instead of honesty and being up front with your customers But dont worry Just send my 200 and Ill just watch my transport company from here on out

    A LTL shipment was set up on 12/20/23 for 2 skids weighing 314 lbs. Central claims they reweighed the shipment to 495 lbs and is now charging almost double the quoted rate.My shipping **** has double checked the received shipment and have verified the original weight of 314 lbs is correct.This is common practice for Central and it seems they alter 3 out of 4 shipments they handle.We will be pulling all our business from them and will also insist our 3PL's do not use them either.

    We had a shipment picked up in **********, delivered to *********. It was quoted as a one day shipment. Instead of arriving the next day, I received a call from dispatch stating they would be in the area the following day between 10am-noon. I said that would be fine. So we were given a 2 day delivery instead of one day. I get it, that happens. It wasn't a guaranteed shipment. They showed up the next day at 11:30am as expected. However, after the shipment was delivered they rebilled $60 claiming I "requested an appointment" when all I did was agree to be here to accommodate them based on their route. Then also billed almost $23 to reweigh the pallet, claiming it was 43lbs heavier that it actually is, but we have certification of the real weight. We are now disputing these issues. This is a carrier that will not honor their rates and tries to scam extra money from customers.

    Central transports main office location in ****** ********, has a foul, mildew, moldy smell coming from the vents anytime the ** or heat is on, they know there is mold in this building going through the vents because they purposely cautiously and rarely use the ** or heat because it always raises complaints to the higher **** Everyone in the ****** building is CONSTANTLY sick, coughing, sneezing, and management has done nothing upon receiving feedback. There are no inspections that go on in this building to ensure its a safe workplace for employees, and is negligible to everyone's health that works at central transports ****** location. They are keeping people sick by trying to save money. No one there knows what to do about it.

    ************** to deal with. ******* will sign your company up to ship at certain prices and then when the invoices start coming they have 100s of dollars added to it. Rep says oh sorry I made a mistake and didn't have you on the right program. No help from her after that. Her mistake not mine. She probably didn't want to lose her bonuses. Then they start harassing your customers to pay the difference while you are trying to get it straightened out with them. Its a family run company and they have young twits call you and your customers relentlessly try to collect the money they claim you owe while your trying to work it out with them. Lost a lot of customers over their harassing phone calls and letters. Now they've got collection lawyers involved. Unbelievably ruthless.

    Bait and Switch On the last two shipments on Central Transport they provided a low price on a shipment and after the shipment was made, Central Transport provided "adjustments" that increased the prices substantially, I spoke to one of the logistics companies and she said that 70% of the complaints she receives for such bait and switch "adjustments" comes from Central Transport.That is, in order to get business, Central Transport, quotes low prices and then raises the prices after the shipment. This has happened to me twice in a row and feel that it is important to warn others concerning this unethical practice.

    I paid this shipping company 1600$ to delivery 3 pallets of furniture the furniture it self was worth about 2000$. Upon delivery every pallet was heavily damaged and the furniture was basically a total loss. I documented all of this noted it on the *** and filed a claim with the company. Fast forward a few months and the company says they will only give me 130$ for the damages they caused. The furniture was a total loss plus i paid them 1600$(roughly) to deliver it. I am now out 3600$. I am soley seeking to get a refund for the shipping cost since they did not hold up their end of the deal by delivering my items in a reasonable condition. Although most shipping companies refund the shipping cost and pay a fair amount for the cost of the items

    Paid for a service that was never completed central then refuses to refund the money. Service was never completed, but yet was paid for in full. Theft.

    We received a delivery made by Central Transport on November 10, 2022. It contained a front fender retailing at $189.00. Upon delivery their driver advised me that the shipment was damaged and he wanted me to be aware of it. After inspecting the fender and verifying the damage WHILE IT WAS STILL ON THEIR DELIVERY TRUCK. (pictures attached) The retailer, Auto Body Specialties has put in a damage claim to Central Transport on our behalf a numerous amount of times. After contacting them today we have gained the understanding that Central Transport will not acknowledge the damage that their company did & has bluntly refused to settle on this issue that they caused. This is not acceptable jurisdiction as the company has exonerated themselves from any damage made by them to our shipment using the excuse that their driver did not note the bill of landing of the damage along with them saying it was to be reported to them within 5 days in which their driver told us that he would take care of that. We expect the $189.00 for the damaged fender along with the $200.00 shipping fee we paid to be reimbursed. Totaling the amount to $389.00! That said, it is mind boggling how a company can still deny the damage when we have the pictures that were taken even before our shipment left their truck.

    Company accepted a package to ship. The package weighted in approx. 250 pounds. When package was delivered it was missing large item and was delivered to the wrong location. This is a customized plate for a manufacturing company and this business has had to shut down because the loss of the package. They made little to no attempt to find the package. A Claim was submitted for a lost package and the amount paid was $24.00. The item mishandled has been quoted approx. 10,,000.00 to have manufactured. We cant hardly speak to the claims department and dont know what to do.
