contracted w/ **** to fix broken air conditioner on 6-13-22, one of the hottest days of this past summer. Technician came out and inspected unit and charged $190 for evaluation but could not fix unit. We paid $190 dollars on 6-13-22. On 6-14-22 another technician came out and together they were able to fix the home air conditioning unit. They charged $100 and we paid $100.00 for the service. We thought that was over until we received a call from **** saying that we did not pay them $190 - I have the original carbon of the check written- and that we needed to cut them another check right away. We check our back account and found that the check for $100 had been paid out but the check for $190 had not. We prepared to pay them the $190 due- however we got a bill from them for $808.75 on 8-24-22 w/ the proviso that there will be a 1.5% late charge after 15 days. This is fraud. They cannot change the amount due after the fact -after we paid them and lie and say they lost the check and further accuse us of short changing them. Thieves!
