I have banked with this credit Union for since 1983 when it was US Federal, went to do a lease buyout on my car, I have a good credit score, was denied, but was told thank you for being a long time member, my advice, take your banking elsewhere.

Thank you for reaching out and for being a valued member of our credit union since 1983. We understand your decision not to move forward with the lease buyout loan. Please know that our intent was not to decline your application but to request additional information as part of our standard lending process. Our goal is always to provide the best possible financial solutions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and underwriting requirements. Should you have any future banking needs, we would be happy to assist you.

Today I went into the *********** office of TruStone Financial Credit Union to open a 13-month CD and they refused to open an account for me because I have a freeze on my credit reports due to a bad experience I had with identity theft. I brought in a copy of my Living Trust Information Page, my REAL ID driver's license, and a personal check but none of that was sufficient to prove my identity.I'm 82-1/2 years old and I've never experienced this with any other financial institution! I'll never go back to TruStone and will invest my money with one of TruStone's competitors!

TruStone Financial Credit Union has internal policies to protect our members, including identity verification requirements before opening an account. A ********************** freeze prevents us from completing this verification through standard methods. While we understand this may be inconvenient, these measures are necessary to protect both our members and the institution.
We encourage you to contact us directly for assistance at ************.

People are not borrowing money when they open a Certificate of Deposit (CD) and credit is not usually checked or impacted when opening a deposit account such as a CD. Therefore, ************** are not detrimental to TruStone or their credit union members and a call to Experian should not be required prior to issuing a ***** appears that your internal policies need to be updated and your focus should be directed to the numerous 1 Star ratings you are receiving. TruStone collected all of my personal information and I want to be reassured that it has been permanently deleted from your system so that my identity is protected and not stolen!

I have tried to contact them by email through my account page over ***** try and find out how to pay the principal on a car loan. Because you cannot do this on your account page when paying your bill which is very inconvenient and makes it feel thats something thats not in their best interest otherwise why is that not featured. Because of this and I like to pay items off early I will never finance with this bank again.

I have been banking with Trustone for a number of years, eight for certain, possibly longer. It is the same process, WITHOUT FAIL. There has not been a single time I have visited a Trustone and witnessed or experienced different operations. I have utilized a number of Trustone locations, all are great, but I do prefer to frequent one in particular and that is the ******************. I consider this my "Home" store seeing as it is where all (nine I believe?) of my accounts were established. ************, *****! My goodness, I tell you, this woman ceases to amaze me! I, like anyone, need loans and lines of credit... checking and savings accounts... life insurance and bonds... And yes, I have all of these accounts with ********************! There have been a number of times I feel I need a bit of financial guidance-establishing short and long term financial goals. Mortgages, vehicles, boats, home improvements, marriage, children, divorce... you name it- sometimes I don't want to adult! Very recently, I had too many unexpected and high priority items present themselves. Some of these were easy to navigate, others quite difficult. Some so difficult and stressful it was debilitating. Personal banker? Who needs a personal banker? Surely those are only sought out by someone much wealthier than I? I seriously had no idea what I had missed out on my entire grown up life until the day I stepped into There isnt a chance anyone who has had the pleasure of working with ***** could, or would say different. Unless, of course, they simply added to all of the amazing qualities Ive already whole heartedly listed, right here, in this novel of a review. Dont take my word for it, though. You certainly need to see for yourself. I promise you wont regret it, and you will never want to seek out another banker again.Gratefully and Respectfully,*****************************, **

Terrible credit union. I had over 1600 of fraudulent ACH withdrawals and they continued to not freeze my account and they would not deny the charges. I ended up with $600 in bank fees. On top of everything they wiped out my savings account and refused to give me my $1500 paycheck. I am still in the middle of getting everything settled, they keep blowing me off and wont talk tome about anything when I go into the branch. At this point I am considering getting a lawyer.

Do not bank here. TruStone Financial is a merger between Firefly and Teachers Federal Credit Union. Firefly was a excellent place to bank. I refinanced my mortgage with Firefly. Zero closing costs, great service and low rates. Before my loan officer left, he stated it was going to be a bad merger for the members. After the merger I have had nothing but bad experiences. One example I have to share... On two separate occasions I scheduled my mortgage payment using Trustones online banking transferring my mortgage payment from my other bank. They pulled double payments out each time. The second time resulted in 8 NSF charges and Trustone wouldn't reimburse me for the over draft fees even after my other bank wrote them a letter stating that Trustone was responsible for the requests. Trustone said that I must have clicked on it twice and that it was my fault. In the end my, regular Bank (*********** Federal Credit Union) forgave the overdraft fees even though they were not responsible. A sign of a good bank.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. My ex-wife and I gave them multiple second chances and they continually failed. The first issue was when they cashed a $2,000+ check against our joint checking from someone sitting in the passenger seat of a drive through. They gave them the full amount without fully verifying the identity. The same people then went to ANOTHER trustone branch and did the same thing with another fraudulent check... They did nothing to help resolve even though it was their incompetence that led to our joint checking account to be fully drained by fraud and their tellers were 100% liable. The second issue was when we asked for my ex-wife to be removed from one of the accounts. They told us several times it was complete and yet she still gets statements. This last issue was when we fully took all our funds out of Trustone but still had accts open. A yearly membership renewed against the debit card which they paid. They called once stating the acct was negative and that was it. Literally that's it. No - hey if you don't get the balance positive in X days we will REPORT YOU, CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT, REPORT TO CHEX, OH AND SEND TO COLLECTIONS.They sent -$45 to collections...Run away.

Incompetence at its finest. I had credit protection on a car loan I transferred to Firefly CU. Everything was fine until I had an health issue and needed to file a claim with the insurance company. For 18 MONTHS Is so-called employee. Refuse to return my phone calls. Or emails and would leave a message saying, have a nice day. Very ill and not working. I was forced to make payments for 18 months. Trustone merged with firefly. Now is the real joke. The car was current I made $420 PMTS for 5 Yrs. The car was totaled out & my ins co sent Trustone a ck for $14,800. They immediately removed my car payment history online kept he entire 18k+ Didn't tell me they received the check and didn't release the title. Without filing a schedule z they paid $250 To my credit card. I told the bank. I needed an accounting for how they could keep the entire amount. When the loan was only 17k to begin with And the manager at trustone told me it sounded like too much work. ?! OMG. He proceeded to call me every week and ask when I was going to make my credit card payment.? I made $25,200 in pmts on a $17,000 loan & they kept the ck for $18,400 when car was totaled. Ins thru them was supposed to make pmts for 18 mths. I did get some $$ from Ins but they are going out of their way to trash my credit, have collection agency harassing me and won't give me an accounting Of why they kept $$. TOO MUCH WORK. I couldn't return to work because my next broken IN 3 Places & have NO car + trashed my credit. They are CRIMINALS.

I filled out an auto loan application online, giving full disclosure of my Unemployment and my wife's financial income. We were approved and made an agreement with an auto dealer to buy a car. When I started looking for the money and getting a cashiers check, they told me that I was not approved any longer. After making agreements with this auto dealer and selling our other car Trustone renigged on their promise to borrow. This put us in a current hardship as we no longer have a vehicle due to the fact they told us we were approved and move forward to such. There is no accountability for Truestone financial. The manager at the Golden Valley location kept asking me if this company was legit. I believe their feelings got involved, and they decided not to give the money over what they thought to not be true. Feelings became fact over my bank account.
