When you sign a lease, it means you are entering into a legally binding contract. Signing a lease voluntarily implies that you have agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in the document. It is essential to read and understand all the terms before signing, as once signed, both parties are obligated to uphold their respective duties and rights as stated in the lease agreement.
You toured the apartment 3 times, including bringing other family members with. This provided you time to evaluate the living space, ask questions and understand the propertys feature and conditions. The Application process, which also requires a small fee to apply. You submitted personal and financial information for review. This clearly solidified your interest level in moving forward. You were then approved, requested a lease, which was then sent for your review. You had 3 days to sign the lease. If it was not signed, we would have cancelled your request. The lease was sent by your request and prior to signing you had every opportunity to not move forward. Then after you making the decision to sign the lease, you personally reached out to us and requested to pay your security deposit on May 28th, instead on the day you signed the lease. We actually agreed to accept the security deposit extension per your request. That extension did not waive your rights to not uphold your respective duties of the lease.
This is a multi- step process. This sequence implies that you had ample opportunity to understand what was expected at each stage. Each step involved clear communication and understanding of the commitments involved. If you've gone through this process and signed the lease, it indicates a well-informed decision. Any issues or disputes that arise afterward are addressed according to the terms of the lease agreement. You choose to use legal channels to try to resolve you from your legal binding agreement, we did not force you to get a lawyer.
